Only a deal for those folks without a decent broadband provider like myself.

Shipping is free. This kit is advertised as being a Starlink v4 dish/WiFi-6 dual band Gen 3 router set combo.

While Starlink does sell it direct for $299 in some places (mainly in the northwest and central US states), in many other places such as where where I live it is $499 new or $349.00 refurbished.

EDIT: West Marine has it for the same price, also free shipping. I don't know if their $25 coupon (you are prompted to sign up for it when you visit the website) works on it or not.

Don't forget you also need a Starlink service plan which is currently $120/mo. for residential.
Sure, goes without saying. I would hope anyone buying something like this should have done research and would be aware.

I currently pay $102/mo for a (theoretical - most days download is half that) 16/0.75 DSL connection from my phone local company, so Starlink that isn't so bad in comparison. Watching Netflix on a 1080p TV makes it essentially useless for anything else.

Where I live, there is no competition, no hope of 5G probably in my lifetime. The two local towers are privately owned, so 4G internet isn't an available option not to mention that the one and no bar 4G days vastly outnumber the others -- cell phones often won't even work in the house.

This is the only option for many of us rural folks to ever have a moderately useful connection option.

I just paid $349 to Starlink less than 2 weeks ago for a refurb version of this kit for my brother as a birthday present, so I'm just a little teed off about them pulling this now.

If this is the newest HW version, it is a really good deal. Walmart though?

Yes, it is. Starlink is also selling the same standard kit directly for the same price now. Further, all their retail partners (including Best Buy and Target) now have it for the same price. When you order through a retailer, they are likely just passing the order off to Starlink for fulfillment.

According to the Starlink website, the $299 price is good through 10/05/2024.
