Stargate series 8?

I read in a magazine that there was going to be a seeries 8 of Stargate SG-1, anyone got any links/stories about it, if it's true?

It's great news though 🙂 Stargate rules.
 
From what my friend told me a few weeks ago....it's true.

O'neil will be less involved that season though, wants to spend more time with family.

I think he said the plotline will follow what was going to happen in a stargate movie....but they decided to do this instead.
 
Yep, season 8 is a go. I don't know if all the current crew will be back or not. I guess they are willing to pay them the money they want and the show is actually gaining in popularity. Too bad it is only seen on SciFi. Not everyone gets it.
 
It's the highest rated sci-fi show on TV and Sci Fi Channel's biggest hit.

The next season will have have elements that were supposed to go into the movie. They're introducing more powerful aliens that the current crop of power mongers.

O'Neil character is supposed to get a promotion. We'll see about that one. What would they do with Don Davis then?

The season's main intention is to introduce the way to the new show "Stargate Atlantis" (an offworld station) for next Fall.
