Stargate news: After Season 10 (and some BIG Atlantis changes)

There's a lot of talk on a lot of forums, and for the time being, it looks like SG-1 will finish with 2 movies after season 10. The first winding up the Ori Story arc, and the second possibly about time travel, and may even lead into a new third spin off series.

Also, Amanda Tapping signed a two year contract with SciFi at the end of Season 9 (everyone planning at that point to finish in season 11). This means even though SG-1 will be gone, Tapping will not. Rumors are that she will at least have a recurring role on Atlantis, if not become a full fledged main cast member.

Jewel Staite (Many may know her as Kaylee Frye from FireFly/Serenity) will basically replace Becket for season 4, but only as a recurring role, not as a main cast member (note that Becket only filled a recurring role in season 1)

Personally, after season 8, SG-1 became a different show in my mind, at least after re-watching all the eps it has.

Didn't Staite's character already get killed off in Atlantis?

I think she was the wraith kid who got some kind of serum to turn human. Didn't work obviously.

D'oh! Haven't missed an episode of Atlantis and I still got my docs wrong; I was thinking McKay at first (must be that fvcking hiatus 😛) .

Now that that's cleared up, I liked Becket, but he was pretty much straight arrow, nothing really stood out. Kaylee will be a definite improvement if only for the eye candy.

rodney is the only unique character of the whole atlantis team, i think he adds a lot of flavor and depth to the whole story. well.. ronin too

She was under 500lbs of prosthetics/make up as a wraith. She's coming back as a human.
