Stardew Valley is dangerously addictive

Is that a Facebook game? Gameplay reminds me a little of NES games like Maniac Mansion or River City Ransom or even that Faxanadu game.

Have they added multiplayer yet?

Multiplayer is still a ways off as this game is a one man labour of love but it
is in the cards. The games FAQ says the following...

"Stardew Valley will launch as a single player game with plans to add 4-player co-op after release. "

It is a PC game and is playable with either Keyboard/Mouse or a Gamepad.
It works very well with my wired Xbox 360 controller.

Finally finished Doom this morning and decided to install this after reading this thread and give it a shot.

7 hours later....

LOL.... so it would be safe to assume you are enjoying it 😀
I have the same issue, when I pick it up, I keep on saying just 10 more minutes, which becomes 10 more minutes and so on and so forth.

Geez I suck at fishing. I can't seem to get the rhythm right or something. Pretty relaxing game, that is until I try to water my plants and forget I still have the axe equipped. No! my strawberries!

I sucked at fishing until I figured out the trick.
First things first... level it up, as it helps a lot.
Keep the fish symbol on the right inside the green rectangle piece on the left hand side.
Basically you are trying to keep the fish exactly inside the left piece, following it up and down. After you master that, you will land most fish.
Leveling fish has a nice benefit, you get 25% more money back at level 6 I think and 50% more money back towards the end. ( think its level 10 )
Its a nice way to make a little extra money.

Also upgrade your tools, especially the watering can. Really cuts down on watering time.

I simultaneously want this game and want to avoid it, hnnngh.

Just get it already 🙂

I'm wondering if I should grab a controller for this or just do the standard KB/M thing I've done for forever.

Need to finish off Wasteland 2 first but this is next.

I got this game today.

5 hours later... must... another... 10 minutes... *mutters* 😱

Don't use 'gay' as an insult.

Raising one American teenager at a time. 50 million to go.

Not really used as an insult in this context, really just synonymous with "lame", not an american teenager, a British adult, it's in common usage over here.

KB/M is absolutely fine.

Do real men play games with titles like "Stardew Valley"?

Just wondering ...

Define a real man?

I'm a man and I enjoy playing this game, it's well made and fun.

And that's exactly the point. Synonymous with "lame" is an insult. I'm not sure how you can type the sentence, 'it's not an insult, it's synonymous with lame', but you did.

Oh I watched Mike & Ryan play this on Youtube and I decided to stay away because it looked way too addicting. Sounds like I made the right call! 😀

Yes, I was a child on the playground once too and we used it in the same context but I stopped using it a long time ago No matter where you are, it is not appropriate here on these forums.
