Starcraft won't install

I just went out and bought Starcraft since I lost my original, and I can't install it. When I put it in, it doesn't come up automatically. I tried to go to My Computer and select the D drive, but Explorer just froze up.

I tried again in my DVD burner, and the same thing. Going to run and typing D:/setup or E:/setup also does nothing except bring up an hour glass for a few and then nothing.

Like I said, I just bought it, so it isn't scratched at all. It installs just fine on my roommate's older computer with a CD rom drive. For some silly reason, will it not install on DVDroms? See my system specs in my sig.

I have that program and just had the same exact program. I put in Starcraft and it freezes. This is how I finally got it to work:

Before I put in the cd, I hit ctrl+alt+del and viewed running processes. Then, I inserted the cd and watched "install.exe" load in the running processes windows. I then ended that task, then went to explorer and located the cd drive (f:/). I then double-clicked on "setup.exe", NOT "install.exe" and it worked.

I did it for Brood Wars as well, as it wouldnt work either. I believe that it has something to do with XP because XP wasn't around when it came out. Not sure though. Let me know if this helps.

The key is end "install.exe" and run "setup.exe". Taking off Autoplay CDs will help, but I forgot where that option was.
