Diablo online was the prime example of what is wrong with online gaming. The only people that could guarentee themselves legit were the purists, and then you had no proof that they were legit. It took me weeks to find a set of people that wanted to go into a dungeon without giving me a fireball suppository. I worked for months to get a set of jade-zod jewlery, but since so many hacked players had it, I often got flagged for having hacked equipment.

play SC in a sanctioned league like WGTour or Neo-Gamei if you are pretty decent. Although instead of hacks, those ladders are populated by cheese like bunker rush, manner pylon, etc...

I'm not good enough for those leagues though so I still stick to pubbies.

You can try some of the more reputable channels on bnet east like public chat kj or blizzforums.

And if you find me online, I'm always up for a game.

Considering the highest paid Korean SC player makes about $300,000 a year, this is no surprise.

A funny story is one time one my of friends was playing in a Korean internet bar and he hacked a game of starcraft. little did he know, his opponent was the local gang leader. Guy traced his IP to the internet bar showed up and was ready to shank his ass.

Luckily, they couldn't tell which computer in the internet bar was used by my friend and nobody really fessed up to the hacking in the bar.

But yes, Koreans take their SC seriously.

i love being owned by insane strats

it is amazing that strats just keep improving almost ten years after this game has been released

if they could keep the hacks to a minimal and have a ladder system like warcraft 3 i would definitely still be playing SC hardcore

um... are you kidding? unless its some newb cesspool, zergs are by far the least favored race. 1.10-1.11 is all about terran.

jokes cease to be fun when they are so detached from the truth.

You have to play a non blizzard official ladder like wgt www.wgtour.com or neo-game-i www.neogamei.net. Neogamei is mostly korean and chinese though, and at the very top of that ladder are pros. its a bit too good for me.

lol i highly doubt thats true... born in korea and lived there for almost two decades so i know what goes on there. pro leagues are pretty big and fun to watch, but your story seems lil too far-fetched.

5 months ago? Fvck me twice, this is 2004 not 1999. Why are you people playing such old games? RA2 was good maybe 30 years ago. People still play SC too? Christ, what a sad world we live in. Really now.

That is because the overall quality of games has gone waaaay down hill.

The races are balanced now. Zerg used to be overpowered. Even at most intermediate levels of play, most pubby players still does not have the god like Pro control/micro to make terran unbalanced.
Perhaps at the very highest level of competition, terran has a slight edge.

why because we don't want to play lame-o games like doom 3?

the general consensus is starcraft is still the best RTS period

lol of course no one serious about the game plays it for the pvm part. pvm is just a chore to train your chara, people pay you an inventory of sojs train a chara with null stats/skills. pvp is where the game is at :)

They're not necessarily cheating. My roommate plays at least 8 hours a day (no, I'm not exaggerating), and he's insanely fast. When you're up against people who never leave their rooms and play all day, it would look like cheating.

how is that? it slows your leveling somewhat, but its not like all you do is lvl. the best part of maphack is it lets you hide ears.
