Did they actually end up splitting this game into three parts? I see it comes with the origional games, but still curious if its worth 70$. I dont even get a zergling figurine...thats weaksauce.

Its split into 3 games, Terran then Zerg then Protoss I think. Each game has like 30 missions in it. If you dont have WoW the CE really isnt worth it.

Of course it is. You get Starcraft original and BW. With the original Starcraft Battlechest + SC2 it equals out to be roughly $90.

They are making it into 3 games. This is not a surprise. Just like with WC3. It had one expansion. This one will have 3. It has been more than 10 years and I didn't expect it to have less.

They'll probably throw in a bone for those who get all three collector editions.

There's actually some neat stuff in the Starcraft 2 collector edition. One is the original Starcraft and Broodware games obviously. The knock on that is I already own to copies of each. The good thing is a collectible 2GB USB key. There's also the artbook and comic book. It's not actually bad from a value standpoint though those who only want the game may find some of it superfluous.

Starcraft 2 is being split into three games, though each game is quite long.

Wings of Liberty - Terran
Heart of the Swarm - Zerg
Legacy of the Void - Protoss

Considering its Starcraft Im guessing the price will never drop? I wonder if waiting untill all three are out maybe possibly there will be a full set discount version? Anyone have a clue when that might be (did they set a release date for the other two games yet)?

Its a tough decision for me, 60$ is two months food bill. I have no spare cash.

The next one is probably in 18 months. I would imagine a similar gap until the third one. At least by then you should be able to save up some money.
The CE is is only worth it for hardcore fans. I had ordered the regular but received the CE. I read the comic and flipped through the artbook but haven't touched anything since opening the box other than the game. Though for just $10 more, it might be worth it for those on the fence.

You don't have to dedicate all your time to SC2. If you just play casually its a fine game to play (especially with friends). If your planning to get good and compete in tournaments... thats another story.
