Yea, they took in what i said about world of starcraft and canned it, then they told me they were making starcraft 2 instead and its an RTS. :thumbsup:

Theres a stasis cell in the artwork trailer, probably containing a hybrid.
Also since a 3rd race isnt mentioned i dont think the overmind is dead. He stated that he wanted to make a hybrid, who would duran serve that was greater than kerrigan? Overmind! Yeah, join the overmind lives theory today and get a free pen!

I hope blizzard sticks with the fast pace concept of Starcraft in SC2. War3 was slower and had a huge amount of micro involved in the fights. The top players who can micro very well in starcraft (even though many thought in theory the game was too fast to have any) are probably the most skilled gamers in the world. That is in terms of coordination and speed skills involved.

Oh yeah 4th, i keep thinkin c&c 3, cause it was 3rd with it. It says on wikipedia that the xel-naga are in it. So i guess they arent a playable race or somthing...

And as awesomely awesome the Overmind was, I think it really is dead. And the Overmind didn't want to create hybrids, he wanted to absorb the Protoss into the Zerg. I guess they'd be "hybrids" but in the end they would technically be Zerg.
On another note I just recently reinstalled SC/BW and am playing through the campaign. I love playing as Terrans and trying to beat every mission without losing any units, or doing things that you're not supposed to do - such as Desperate Alliance where you're just supposed to hunker down and survive for 30 minutes, instead I go out and wipe out all the Zerg. Or New Gettysburg where you're supposed to destroy the Protoss yet leave the Zerg alone (not destroy any Zerg buildings, its the mission where Kerrigan is overrun and captured) only to setup a new base and position where the Zerg get completely slaughtered and 12+ Carriers and dropships suggest Kerrigan should be able to easily walk alway from the onslaught, how does Kerrigan get captured when I lose 0 units and destroy hundreds of Zerg with ease? 😉

kind of like the plain Naga in WC3 😛 Can't play as the race, but perhaps we'll be able to control units of hybrids or xelnaga or some other race

Yeah exactly like the naga. Or perhaps the xel naga will appear in FMV's and mission briefings only, and the hybrids will be controlled by them, the hybrids may also be like the naga and be a race, or they might be singular all powerful units created to wipe out the other two creations which both turned on the xel naga at different points. If the overmind was still alive they wouldnt stand a chance as it knows everything the xel naga knew up to the point where their worldships were destroyed.

Then dont get the most awsome game to be made this century go ahead and miss out on the amazing storyline and fabulous gameplay thats bound to be present. The RTS genre is experiencing a major revival, we have C&C3, Company of heros, starcraft 2 on the horizon, i gather a halo RTS is also coming. Since you dont seem to like starcraft or know what the hell its about i conclude you suck and should go buy a PS3. Theres so much more to starcraft than knowing hotkeys and beating people 1v1, thats one small aspect of the best game ever made.
Starcraft 2 looks terrible, the sound FX are awful, and the game play seems to be no better than the Command and Conquer MOD made by fans. It?s a rip off of Warcraft 3 and game-wise, the Warhammer 40K games may seem to have already outdone Starcraft 2. And not to mention, but the Games Workshop sci-fi innovation is by far more superior to Blizzard Entertainment?s. Too bad Blizzard is taking a step backwards, what a shame from maintaining its highly reputable name as a smart forward-moving company.

ever heard of an alpha? heck, this is probably extremely PRE-alpha. the game's probably nowhere near done yet.
exactly how is it a ripoff of warcraft3?
and starcraft has been vastly more successful than Warhammer40k. obviously blizzard did something right with the sci fi setting that GW couldn't. starcraft includes a map maker - DoW doesn't. starcraft is infinitely more balanced *cough* Necron FO spam *cough* and has a longer playability. There's a reason why the game is still popular 10 years from its inception - i bet it has more current players than all of the Warhammer RTS's combined.

How the hell can you say this from a game that ISNT EVEN OUT YET..... Seriously... copy/paste that into notepad and call the file "for when starcraft 2 is released" Then that warped opinion may be relevent for you. Also at the start of the gameplay video if you've even watched that it says "nothing is final in this, it is a demo" which basically is telling people like yourself dont whine and moan if you dont like what you see.
Some people just have to HATE things.... for no reason... its stupid. Go predict doom and crappyness for any other unreleased game, but not starcraft 2, blizzard has not put out one single crappy game, not one.... Ive played every franchise and enjoyed all of them, i dont play warcraft III or tft much and it was my least favourite game, but i still liked it. Starcraft 2 will be awsome, you have no idea what your talking about.

i would love for a 2007 ship date, that would be ZOMG-WTFantastic, but i don't think it'll happen. i imagine they had like.. 5 guys start SC2 while everyone else worked on WoW. but i'm insanely excited for SC2 and i can't wait to see what blizzard has in store for the terrans and zerg!
