I got into 4v4 random diamond league tonight! Woot!

I was at Plat rank#1 for about week/week and a half. I'm not #1 in my diamond league haha, but that's only b/c it's a new division and there are only 7 ppl in it lulz.

isn't it hard as hell to mash the attack button on a gamepad? I set a macro to my keyboard to spam like 10 spacebar hits, which made the game much easier, and much less painful to play. I just missed the gold achievement, though :(
The program I use to emulate keyboard keys with the pad has a turbo option.

Campaign Question: I know during the Campaign the missions fork so you can choose what kind of person Raynor is. But after you select one path, do you have to start the game over (or load a saved game before the choice) to play the other path? Or can you go back and just play the missions you missed after beating the campaign.

You have to load a game before the split. Since each branch is only 1 mission long though, it's not a huge deal.

No you don't. You can access the skipped-path mission from the mission archives...I think as soon as the archives are available, but after you've completed at least 1 of the 2 available choices. I didn't notice this until I had completed the campaign, so it's possible you have to finish at least once. However, I started a new campaign and was able to play these missions as soon as the archives showed up.

You can play the other missions from the archives. It also has the cinematics from that path.

As JTsyo mentioned, once you complete one split mission, you can go to the archive and play through the other alternate mission without it affecting your current story line. You DO NOT need to reload anything NOR do you have to beat the campaign first. The cinematic for that specific alternate missions will also be available to watch.

Note however that I do not think there are any research items to find in the alternate missions, or if there are, they do not count towards anything.

Ok, so last night, I was playing 4v4 team league games.

My team did bad on placement matches awhile back and ended up in bronze league, like rank #19 (it's kinda funny b/c I'm Diamond top 5 rank in 4v4 random).

Anyway, we played 3 matches and won them all, but none of them yielded any points. I know for the 3rd game, my team was favored so I can understand not getting points for that, but for the previous 2 games, the other teams were either slightly favored or favored, yet we still got 0 points for winning.

Can anyone explain what is going on regarding why we are getting 0 points? Does it have anything to do with me being in diamond league on random 4v4? My other teammates are not ranked high in 4v4 random. Were we put against placement match teams?

I would think that winning 3 games in a row as a Rank #19 bronze team would give us some points.

Probably and error with battlenet, there are people on the forums who have said the same thing happened in their 1v1 games. However it sometimes takes a little while for the system to update so may just be that.

Has anyone gotten "an error has occurred" message when trying to log into any battle.net forum or your battle.net account?

I was logged in fine few hours ago, and now I come to find I can't even login to my account on b.net.

I'm able to log onto SC2 game and play games fine, but it's just the b.net account/forums pages I can't log into.

I've had games never show up on my Match History :\.

Last night I won my first FFA and it showed as a loss in match history for about 10 minutes. Then it changed into win. I guess the servers sometimes take time to process the result of games, and sometimes they're lost or something.

I did not search this thread, but a quick question: Where do I go to download the top replays? I found out one site (replays.net) but that site hosts mostly Korean players' replays. I would like to watch some replays from the State side.

Sc2Replayed

also if you want commented replays check out Day9, HDstarcraft, huskystarcraft, AhnarisStarcraft, PsyStarcraft, ForceStarcraft on youtube. Day9 and Force are the most informative and teach the most about becoming better etc. Husky and HD are more for entertainment.

Well.. you should watch the game. There is no way you can have Sentries out before 20 Zealots run over your base. lol. I don't even think Terran can have enough time to wall in against this.

Anyone else play Storm of the Imperial Sanctum? It's essentially Starcraft 2:DOTA.

It's a fairly fun game though it suffers from small balance issues and other things you would expect from a early build. I love my Springsprocket.

Though I've never really did like DOTA, the sc2 version isn't bad.

Thank you. It's a great site to get replays! Look what I've found..

http://www.sc2replayed.com/replays/51697-2v2-terran-protoss-zerg-discord-iv

2v2 cheese.. Can this be beatable? Basically Terran leaves the game as it begins and gives all the resources to Protoss, and Protoss Zealot rushes with 5 gates almost instantly. lol.

THAT particular rush could have been beaten because the execution was pretty lackluster. It happened to beat the other team because their performance was even worse.

  • Neither player scouted the proxy
  • Both had terrible, TERRIBLE timings (Zerg had idle drones and Terran was very slow, delaying the ever so important first units)
  • Terran did not build any bunkers yet had 200-300 extra minerals (which is a ton to have early game)
  • Zerg did practically nothing, he made a few Zerglings and suicided them into their hard counter 4 at a time
  • Zerg needed to build roaches
  • Terran sent all of his SCVs to chase 1 probe which is the worst thing you can do (and he STILL had 200-300 extra minerals)

So if you... have lots of idle workers, make your buildings late, build the wrong units, don't build defense structures, don't scout, and don't micro properly then yeah, you're probably going to lose to a proxy rush.

These guys would have lost to 1 Protoss doing a 1 base proxy rush.

Against a competent team that particular rush would have failed. If the Protoss is played optimally I'm not sure what the outcome would be since the game plays differently at a higher level.

  • Toss could have got the first Zealot there WAY faster.
  • Toss did not use chronoboost.
  • Toss got supply blocked with the terran and neglected to produce more SCVs with money sky-high
  • Toss building placement was not optimal (you can block the pylons with the gates)

I tried it. Seemed okay... didn't really know what I was doing, though. I guess if you played Dota you'd be familiar with this one? the learning curve is the same, probably...

Question on the Brutal achievement. Do you have to accomplish all objectives in the mission to receive the achievement? I just finished Welcome to the Jungle last night, finally, but I only had time to nab one of three Protoss research pieces. The mission did end successfully though.

Yes it will count. You do not need to get the research items, only pass the stage succesfully.

But which Brutal Achievement are you talking about?

If it's the completionist one, you can go to your achievements page and look at the list of stages that are checked off and those which aren't.

If it's the brutal 5,10,15,20,25 one, just see if the counter goes up by one. Note, however, if you started the mission at a different difficulty, and then go back and replay it on brutal, it most likely will not count towards the Brutal 5,10,15,20,25 ach.
