Starbucks white chocolate mocha coffee with whipped cream

In my opinion a cup of coffee should be focussed around the coffee - a short black, latte, flat white and to some degree a cappuccino. These fancy coffees have more focus on the crap that you can add than they do on the coffee, like a shot of espresso is just an afterthought.

Just my opinion, it doesn't bother me what other people like to eat/drink. Enjoy your calories

I like the white mocha, but it's extremely sweet. Because of that I compensate with extra espresso, asking for 4 shots in a venti instead of the menial 2 that Starbucks uses. In less-sweet drinks I'll get 3 shots of espresso in a venti. I think it's ridiculous to put only 2 shots of espresso in a 20-oz drink. I put 2 shots of espresso in a 12-oz drink at home, and that seems about right.

Most of us stopped drinking chocolate milk when we were 9 years old and even the folks that didn't were smart enough not to pay $5 a cup for it. Well, *most* of the folks were smart enough, there's at least one exception to the rule.

PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE! (only dessert, tho). Plain black with cream/sugar every morning.

I have Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice coffee at home, but I only drink it black. Smells and tastes great.

I just go with the daily blend. It's been Anniversary which is decent. I like sumatra and estima a bit. Not too fond of Pike, but whatever. All their coffee is drinkable. Have to say the rwanda they had recently was some of the best coffee I've ever had (aside from the cat poo stuff that costs hundreds a cup)

Since they treat their employees very well, I'm willing to pay a little extra for my coffee. You could go get a McCrappay for a buck (maybe two) cheaper but you can 100% guarantee that the person making it hates their job and is being treated like shit.

So you pay more to feel good about employee treatment?

It's not like the people at McD are slaves being beaten every time they make a mistake.
Besides, paying more at Starbucks just means more money out of your pocket that could have been used to help people who actually need it, not make lower-middle class Starbuck's employees feel happier (yes, I get that they get better benefits and such).

I have no issue with anyone going to Starbucks or whatever, I just think that employee satisfaction is a weird justification to pay more at one place versus another. If you said you like their coffee better, or that you like the store environment, that makes sense to me (well, their coffee isn't better, but you get my point).

I also don't get paying more for "green" or "organic" products unless the quality is better. Why not just save the money? Every dollar extra spent just goes back into the economic system, and would probably be used for something not so green or organic down the line.

It isn't like I go every day, hang out with my laptop and turn my nose up at other establishments. Also, they have the best coffee in my town.

Here's my coffee choices:
*Starbuck's
Carribu (sp?) which is inside a grocery store
Local Place, I don't mind their food, but their coffee is questionable
McDonalds, If I wanted coffee made from a syrup bottle I go to the gas station
*The gas station
*Old timey diner place

* Only places open before 6am

What a blanket statement.

Two of my exes and a few friends of mine have worked at several local Starbucks. Only one of them actually thought it was a decent job. The rest bitched and moaned about it.

An absolute YMMV minimum wage job.

If that's the case, then yeah, valid reason to go there.

With insurance, 401k match, vacation time, holiday pay, maternity leave, greavance leave...

Not a YMMV minimum wage job. They probably bitched and moaned about their paychecks and didn't pay attention to any of the benefits. That's OK... I'll insure them.
