Starbucks Threatens to sue a website for linking to them!

I HATE Starbucks. I'm proud to say I've never had a cup of their coffee.

It's funny - Starbucks put a store right across the street from an independent coffee place here in Buffalo and they're not doing so hot.

I hate how they correct what you order in a condescending way...

I'm just like..."Look buddy, don't come down on me..you're the one working at Starbucks" 😉

I never go to starbucks......that's one of the lamest law suits i've ever heard of, but the law is almost silly these days, if someone looks at me weird, i can probaby claim sexual harassment and sue 'em........i've heard the same lame stuff on 20/20 or whatever those latenight shows are

From an objective perspective (as an ex-employee) the person at register has to cal it a certain way or the person on bar can't interpret it. Well they could but it would take longer. Look at it this way, they are trained to "call" drinks in a certain way and the drink you're ordering they've probably already said in the same order about 900 times that day, it's just a habit enforced through repetition. when it's really busy that habit comes in helpful because it makes things move along faster. Of course I'm not a big fan of them as a corporation but they did pay my bills for a while....

Starbucks is no stranger to the frivolous lawsuit... let me find the link... they apparently have a little problem with that whole free speech thing....

Here it is

LOL at that link...

I can see how Starbucks could be pissed at someone dissin their company..but I don't think
that parodies violate copywrights.

This new case is even more baffling...they are suing someone
that was actually praising their company 😕

<< 2600 had this same fight with Ford. I thought it went up to the Supreme Court and 2600 won, but I could be wrong. >>

Yes, they won when it went to court.

Damn, Google better watch out...

And, I just noticed that starbucks.com is part of the .NET network.

If true, pretty sad on the part of Starbucks' lawyers, trying to justify their existence by picking on websites.

Tasty coffee though, my day doesn't start until I grind some beans and brew a pint mug full of Cafe Verona or House Blend. Mmmm, strong.

Damn, Google better watch out...

How true. WTF are these moronic attorneys thinking? They are all hopped up of caffeine right??

Funny that yall bring up Google... I have another thread here
about how Google was pressured into removing links in its search engine...

Not that the Google incident holds any water...but this one is even more baffling...

I work there, we have to. I don't like speaking jibberish either, but then again I am not the one ordering that fruity ass jargon.
Ill take the free coffee though, no complaints.
