There's zero chance I'm going to stop making fun of this, but a small part of me hopes it's good. I know the odds are awful, what with a geriatric cast, Lucas still being involved, and Captain Lens Flare, but for some reason I still have some small hope.

Star Wars: A Small Hope sounds legit. Carries on the tradition of slightly modifying previous sub-titles too.

Remember though that virtuall all of the Jedi were killed off by this point I believe (I'm not some uber Star Wars extended universe nerd), so the title kind of, might make sense?

The entire EU was thrown out as Star Wars canon, so it's irrelevant to the future story.

Apparently you guys haven't heard about the rumors. Luke has been in hiding since ROTJ. He essentially didn't want to have anything to do with being a leader, because he feared that he might end up being like his father. So the force awakening will be his return, plus the return of the darkside. The force has pretty much been absent for the last 30 years. Is it the greatest title? No, it doesn't roll off the tongue. But I think the title is fine. Its a lot better than Attack of the Clones, or the fake rumored title "An Ancient Fear.

The other theory is that Jedi Knights of 1000 years ago were more powerful than the Jedi of the prequel era. This is because the Sith diminished the jedi ability to use the force. This has been mentioned several times in the movies in passing. Now with the Sith gone, the force is flourishing again.

So before you think a title is stupid, you might want to wait and see what the movie is about. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Empire Strikes Back is classic, and Return of the Jedi is very good; also a classic title I'd say.

But yes--the others are all awful.

I would argue that the names are only classic because the movies themselves are considered classic. The Phantom Menace is the only name which I think was really stupid, and it didn't help that the movie itself sucked eggs too.

Yup. At the end of Return of the Jedi, Luke was the only known surviving Jedi.

Oh, right. Yeah, Leia allegedly has potential but Luke was the only one left.

Yoda to ObiWan in Empire: "No, there is another."

Luke and Leia in Jedi:

Luke: If I don't return, you have to take my place
Lei: You have a power, I don't understand
Luke: No Leia, you have that power, too. And in time, you will come to understand it and use it as I have...

etc...

While there was indeed one Jedi at the end of the series, I think we are made to expect that Lei will be the next Jedi, even before she pumps out little Indiana Jones babies. So, we expect a certainty of two Jedis (Yoda/ObiWan/and Vader could always haunt--er-train Leia from the dead)

Of course, they could always have her offed early on in this one to throw a hammer in everything. ...that would be kinda cool.
