star wars unleashed II

I think this has been discussed before. The first one was also short and pretty underwhelming, a bargain bin game at best. Were you really expecting this one to be so much better? Why would anyone pay a full $60 for this game?

i wouldn't say good. it was ok. sure in the hell NOT worth the money. heck not worth half the price.

Euphoria and Digital Molecular Matter physics actually made TFU a day one purchase for me, plus it was Star Wars. As far as God of War clones go, it was ok. I wish they had taken better advantage of the technologies they were hyping. They seemed tacked on IMO.

The graphics of TFU II impressed me in the demo, but not much else. Just more of the same. Reviews have been saying its lacklustre.

The demo for the 2nd one was worse than the 1st one IMO. Both of these games sucked hard.

I've lost all hope for their ever being a modern day spiritual successor to the Jedi Knight series.

The first one was utter crap and you expected the second one to be any better???

Overall, I thought the first one was okay. I liked the story and the force powers. My favorite part was the prologue where you got to control Vader. Force Unleashed 2 felt like more of same and I feel it should have focused instead entirely on Vader - it would have probably been much more successful critically and commercially.

I really thought the ending was just end of chapter 1. I was amazed when the credits came up and that was it.

it had a bad ending, far to short and way to many bugs. i died from bugs or glitches far more then i died from other things.

Hope has been gone for awhile. There has been maybe 5 total Star Wars games that were good.

I was thinking the same thing to be honest. TFU2 was very short for a 60 dollar game. Even the first one was longer and seemed to have a more in depth story line. I got to the end, crushed Vadar...then nothing. What a waste.

And unlike the majority of this board, I enjoyed the first one. I am sucker for SW crap, but still, #1 wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.

Tie Fighter
Jedi Knight
Shadows of the Empire
KOTOR
the early 80's rail arcade games 😛
I might get flak for this but I had 20 hours of fun out of Empire at War but after that.. Zzzzz

the game was just too easy. if it was short and hard, that would be another story. Just power up force push/burst and you're practically untouchable.

Pretty fun though. Rented it and beat it. Worth the $9 rental.

Played the first one, thought it was fun but not fantastic. Read the reviews for the second one, saw that it got rated lower than the first, decided to skip until it hit bargain bin price.

Dark Forces on PC was also rather awesome. I seem to remember Shadows of the Empire (that's the N64 game, right?) being a very similar, also awesome, game released shortly after.

the length V price is not there, there were some genuinely fun moments in the game but over all its standard repetitive hack and slash but to be fair the hack and slash genre has hit an all time low since the days of the ps2 pumping out a hack and slash once a week and seeing how there isn't 50 billion of these things out this generation to see one that was polished as this one is a nice thing it was short though but I would rather have a polished small turd then a big wet one

There's probably a reason they've canceled The Force Unleashed III.

Yeah. I'm not surprised at all. In fact, I was surprised they even made a Force Unleashed 2.

I know, neither I nor anyone else here is an executive at a gaming company, but I think everyone is scratching their heads as to what in the hell LucasArts is doing. They're sitting on one of the most desirable intellectual properties in the world, during a time in gaming history where sequels and remakes rule, and they've got a pile of well-liked game series just itching for a reboot... and they release a lukewarm sequel to a lukewarm game that everyone sees as a poor shadow of the Jedi Knight series?

Why not put an equal amount of effort into a relaunch of Jedi Knight, Republic Commando, Battlefront, TIE Fighter, or Empire at War?

Because unfortunately the mass's are willing to buy half a game and that's called business ethics 101. "if its profitable its ethical" we have no one to blame but our self's for the quality of games that are coming out because we buy them

Yeah but if Force Unleashed 2 was profitable they wouldn't have canceled Force Unleashed 3. I don't blame them for FU2; the first game was popular despite it being kind of crappy so they made a sequel. I wouldn't buy it but many people did. But what they failed to realize is you can't only release a game and automatically get sales. If it sucks badly enough, people won't buy it.

In a way, we, the game buying public, have killed the Force Unleashed series. We'll just have to see if that encourages LucasArts to release better games in the future or not.

I wouldn't say "we as a game buying public killed the series" I would say that the fact that Lucius arts made a sequel to a game that was a pile of garbage due to there own ineptitude for firing over half of there dev team in the final proses of the games creation killed it but I hear what you are saying really bad games die but the mediocre stay around forever case and point the halo franchise

shit i would kill for a new tie fighter Xwing game.

I have been trying to get my Xwing alliance game working but it just won't work on win7 64
