I probably won't play TOR (did play the beta), but because I think my opinion really mattersP), there's something about the word "sodality" that I just don't like. Maybe because it looks a lot like some generic store-brand diet soda. "Come and enjoy a fresh 'Soda Lite' today!" :|
EDIT:
So you're trying to avoid servers with large/popular/well-known guilds to avoid the possible "player magnetism" that they have? Makes sense I guess, but typically large servers have their own benefits as well (usually in regard to economy).

There's also the possibility of going for one of the no-prelaunch-guild servers that will undoubtedly be up. Problems: (1) there may not be any in the first wave (but I doubt this); (2) can't tell what the names of these will be until actual login time.
I'd say go to the servers with higher populations and larger guilds for a few key reasons.
First and foremost if this game goes the way of the last 7 or 8 big (or relatively big) MMO releases since WoW, the smaller, less populated servers will quickly become ghost towns. Those still playing on the dead realms will then be forced to transfer to another server in order to keep playing.
Second, larger servers are always more active and vibrant. World PVP zones are busy, instance groups are easier to find, and the economy is usually in far better shape.
Sure, large guilds such as Goon Squad attract tards aplenty, but I'm more than willing to put up with them if it will ensure that I'm not alone on my server by week 5 after release.
Yeah...we do not want to end up on a population starved server either. Perhaps a nice middle ground?
Though, one would guess any server should do, as Bioware likely balanced guild placements in a fairly even manner, perhaps also considering server popularity in beta. One would think anyway.
medium sized would be best. one thing to keep in mind is possible queues on popular servers. So sticking ot smaller guild server would avoid that. Honestly i dont care what server as long as we have the server picked by the itme i log on![]()
We had at least 4 votes for the Shii-Cho server and no objections that I saw.
Name proposal: "The Sodality" for the Republic and "Sith Sodality" for the Empire.
