A friend of mine is tasked with creating a Star Wars themed party for about 40 adult employees. She's having trouble thinking of activities/events that are Star Wars themed.

Any ideas? (there will be no alcohol at this party)

Idea one: stop working with a bunch of idiot nerds. Nobody wants to dress up in Star Wars cosplay that isn't a fucking neckbeard manchild.

A Star Wars themed "party" has Star Wars plates and napkins. Tell all the manchildren to leave their Luke outfits at home. None of the females (if any besides your friend) are going to dress up like Slave Leia.

90% of the employees are IT staff, so some may show up in their Luke outfits regardless of whether it's intended or encouraged.

ah ok. Well then just get the laser disc version of the original trilogy and give everyone a nerdgasm. And by get I mean pirate because I doubt anyone actually has a laser disc player.

The laser disc version is actually 8 minutes shorter than the theatrical version. It believe it plays at a quicker rate (and edit made for showing on TV) which is why the time is condensed.

Is that Olivia Munn? To this day I have the biggest "I would lick between your toes" crush on her from Attack of the Show. I officially changed my free pass from Cameron Diaz to Olivia Munn with my wife a few years back. Her pass is Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Since Munn isn't as big of a star I think I have a better shot :p

If you enjoy Munn that much, I would suggest you watch Magic Mike.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think I would like working with you. :D

I am really just against themed parties, especially work related ones. Now, themed weddings? Oh, you can bet if I ever get married, we are going full on "dress as the appropriate side you've been assigned or don't bother showing up". And if the priest refuses to dress as the Emperor, we're finding a new one of those as well.

Oh god, is this an "optional" (aka, mandatory) work social function?

Everybody gets a nerf lightsaber and beats up the middle managers. Then eat pizza and watch ESB. Done.

"You will have fun goddammit!"

ATT used to have these. The memo always began your attendance is requested & required. Until the state started to make them pay people for after work meetings.
