AFter looking at the screenshots I can safely say that Crysis can rest easy :sneaky:
Welcome to 2004.
But hey, the gameplay is what matters.

Total epic-ness. Can't believe I'm going to have to conform and probably play my first MMO now once this is released.
DOH!!!
WoW clone it will not be. You won't see orcs and elves nor dwarfs nor blood elfs or undead.
It will of course use similar mechanics that most MMO's use - tank, healer, dps, ranged, etc as the e3 videos have shown. And the usual "go do something to be rewarded or prove yourself" quests... lets just hope it's not "go get me 10 baby rancor teeth and I'll give you this neat useless knife". 🙂
I am glad to hear they will have PVP specific zones - that should keep the ADHD pvp kiddies happy. That's one thing SWG desperately needed [they were in the game - but didn't work].
And just remember - WoW was cloned from an MMO before it... they just "borrowed" the good ideas and made it simpler for just about anyone to pick up and play. 🙂
The UI looks strikingly similar to WoWs, and what MMOs were out before WoW? Everquest and UO are the only two that I can think of that had any considerable population, and I'll tell you from years of experience, they didn't copy from UO. If they had, WoW wouldn't be nearly as carebear. I never played Everquest because I grew up on UO and couldn't take the fact that PvP was only allowed under strict conditions. I guess I'm one of those "ADHD pvp kiddies" because I like a little risk vs reward.
Don't forget, WoW changed what is considered a "large" population. Prior to WoW, 200K to 300K was considered large. I think EQ was around 500K, SWG peaked at 300K, and I am not sure what UO's pop was.
There are a few heavily PvP-focused games out now. AoC is one, and Darkfall is another. I like PvP, but personally, I hate getting ganked when trying to do quests. So I support PvP regions.
I don't understand why they released such a trailer, and now non-MMO players are going to be "interested" until they actually play the game and realize it isn't anything like the trailer. In fact, I can't even think of a game that IS like the trailers.
This game will be a WoW clone, and it will be good from an MMO player's perspective. It won't be a game the MMO haters will love. The only other appealing quality it will have over over players not interested in MMOs will be that it is Star Wars. I happen to like MMOs, so I am willing to try it; but the fact that it is Star Wars makes for certain that I am buying it on release day. I've done the same for every Star Wars game I can remember.
Well I guess I can't say for sure but I've been watching this from the get go. I am a star wars fan, a huge fan of KoTOR and I just have a feeling I'm going to want to play this game.
And I loathe the thought
This is true, but the order was a lot different during the Old Republic. It has been destroyed and rebuilt numerous times, as has the Sith Empire. None of the Sith in this game are even true Sith, they are simply Dark Jedi. I think once Jedi started falling in mass to the dark side, rules were enacted to combat emotional stress that could contribute, as well as limiting what powers were studied. Also, I believe all Sith artifacts and holocrons were destroyed to prevent Jedi being corrupted studying them.
That comment before wasn't directed towards you, just towards most people who don't play or like MMOs. I know a lot of people will jump into this because it is BioWare, Star Wars, and now because the trailers are extremely exaggerating what the gameplay is capable of.
You are wrong. The rule of two had not been implemented by Darth Bane yet. There use to be Sith armies and they were just as common if not more common than Jedi. The reason Darth Bane instituted the rule of two is because the Sith kept knocking each other off, they also have inner wars at times.
Hm why did the rebels give up their positional advantage on the ridge to run into the trees where melee expert Sith were, no wonder they lost to the empire. And the main rebel guy can't keep a gun in his hands for 20 seconds before he throws it to the ground to charge someone 🙂
Cool video though 🙂
Does anyone know how much the monthly fee will be for this game?
throw people off ledges.
the girl who is barely able to hold back the sith's lightsaber strike with both hands, magically is able to do it with 1 hand while she brings down a tree?
:/
this is why i liked jedi knight 2 / jedi academy. things made more sense. max force choke, throw people off ledges.
You keep saying this like it's correct.Yes, but not during the time of the the game was in place. Darth Revan's Sith were not true sith. They were Jedi turned evil.
