No. I'm criticizing that part of the writing.
I'm saying that they are stupid reasons that only make sense for the motivations of children in cartoons. Don't expect the viewer to buy that when your character is A GROWN MAN.
No. I directly addressed it and explained why it was A REALLY STUPID REASON.
Would you hire/respect a grown man who dresses up in a costume everyday to emulate his idol?! That's why it's a stupid explanation.
You just described a 3-year old. That's "what." Our villain's motivations are only believable if you think of him as a 3yo and I can't criticize that? I'm sorry if I'm more discriminating than you are, but that's some poor storytelling and a blatant excuse for dressing him up like Vader.
We want a new story without every act correlating to something from ANH. How hard is that? Is that
unreasonable?
It *is* a bad thing. Was Empire a rip-off re-telling of Hope? Next thing you're going to tell me is that Abrahms did the
right thing when he made Star Trek Into Darkness retread Star Trek II.
Also, he wasn't nearly the only one with a cape. Capes have been used to signify rank and royalty in our history and every indication is that The Empire has a similar custom.
Uhh, when has it not? What I noticed it's that cardboard-backed digital copy preorders were on the shelves at Wal-Mart the day after the movie started playing in theaters. IIRC, it had a bunch of extra content you could watch right away, but I'm still baffled: isn't the point of preordering to ensure proper distribution of stock and adequate supply before release? How does that apply to a DIGITAL copy with no physical media?!
