Had it (the 1st 1977 version).
The crown jewel(s) though were:
A) The Death Star
B) AT-AT
(had them also)
Ya but did you have the complete Ewok village? With traps and all?

I still have them, though I am not 100% sure where they are and my Death Star isn't complete any longer. In my garage, I do have the Star Destroyer playset and Slave 1, along with a few other ships in my attic. The actual figures are in their figure cases, stored in my man cave closet.
I also have 7 of the original 12" figures boxed up. I should finish that collection.
Instead of a big dark blur, I see a big bright blurThe holy grail though was the Sand Skiff:

I saw it for sale twice when I was "reliving childhood fantasies" via my wallet. Once was in box $500!!!! and the other was out of the box $200. Way too pricey
Never had a single 12" figure I will admit.
I love that you want to finish the collection though
When I was about 20 or so and had actual $$, I and a few of my friends, started buying up all the stuff that we wanted as a kid but never got. (I'm looking at you Y-Wing and B-Wing).

awesome! let's go see these, and afterwards go pound nails in our dicks.
I was 6.5 when Star Wars hit. I remember being surprised a few years later when I saw it again and he added the "Episode IV" and "A New Hope" to the opening scroll.
Darth Vader and the Tie Fighter were my first toys. I remember going to Children's Palace and seeing a HUGE row dedicated to Star Wars stuff throughout the run of the OT. They literally had hundreds of SW figures to dig through. It was GREAT!
My favorite part was that usually, the first wave of new figures for the upcoming movie was released a couple of months before the new movie. Keep in mind that we didn't have WWW access in the 80s, so these new figures appearing were kind of a "mini-spoiler" and I remember how much fun it was to try and guess who these new characters were or how they played out in the movies. I specifically remember seeing the Biker Scout figure and the first wave of Return of the Jedi figures and guessing if they were major characters or not.
How the hell do you turn a movie that was shot on a regular film camera into "3d"?
I was annoyed that they simply did not take the old flik and clean up the effects to make it so you could not see the yellow frames around the tie fighters in battle. The key to "cleaning up" a l;ot of this stuff is to simply keep it the way it was and concentrate on making what was there look better, not make new stuff (Geez, is it just me or did Jabba gain a LOT of weight between 3 and 4? That was stupid including him back in 3!)
Ah well.
Work.
My wife doesn't understand my nostalgia or sentimentality (is that a word?). Conversely, I look at her and think to myself that it must really suck not to have had so many awesome things as a kid that you want to relive or revisit.
For me, Star Wars is definitely one of those things.
Man how much they gonna milk this franchise for. Next up: Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter in 3D. Brilliant idea to make a lot more money, by 2012 3D will be much more widely accepted than it is right now.
The last 2 Potters are going to be 3D![]()
I swear IndyColtsFan, we were seperated at birth.
My wife too has very little nostalgic things from her youth. Different upbringing I guess. I may have TOO much though. I can browse through shit on ebay all damned day and get teary eyed
FWIW, I paid NINETY for my B-Wing and NINETY for the Y-Wing in probably 1994. Not much ability to cross reference pricing and such back then
I don't think I have any rare figures. Maybe large-head Han, though not super rare. I KNOW my first 2 jawas were vinyl capes (ultra rare)... but I dont have the caps any more of course. Some frinds have amanaman and the blue snaggletooth I know.

I would also like to know how they do this.
IIRC, I am missing the cardboard "walls" on my Death Star, the "rope," and there are a few broken/cracked pieces.
They have boxed Death Stars for $1000 on eBay right now. Loose ones or ones not in prime condition go for a couple hundred, it looks like. The B-Wings were remade with the series of figures that started in the mid-90s and continue to this day, so they are fairly reasonable. Heck, I even saw some classic B-Wings that look like you can get them for under $50.
