Heh. I wonder how well it would play on my Galaxy S Relay, dual core 1.5 GHz Krait and Adreno 225. The only other 3D games I've tried playing on it are Mass Effect Infiltrator and Deus Ex The Fall. My brother will probably have more success with his Galaxy Note 3.

Edit: Non-starter! Google Play tells me it's downright incompatible with my phone.

Not sure how I feel about this really. Great game, one of my top five favorites. Personally, I would not want to play it on a tablet or phone though. Also, as a PC gamer only, not sure how I feel about games like this coming to android. I have this feeling that the next consoles could be android, which I think would be a very, very bad thing for PC gamers.

KOTOR isn't a twitch-based action game, it's a real time but pseudo-turn based RPG where you can freely pause and plan out attacks. That more easily translates into touch screen controls.

The next consoles won't be Android. Android comes with overhead that makes it unappealing for a "hardcore" gaming system. Android will have a niche with inexpensive "microconsoles", though.

The Note 3 and 4 are officially supported. Here's the list of officially supported devices. Its relatively small. At 5 dollars, I would jump on it. Not sure if I would at 10, seeing as how I've bought the game three times already. Boxed, Steam, and GoG.

Interesting. I have never played this title and have two devices supported (N7-13 and M7). But, searching on my phone on the Play store, I cannot find it? Hmm. Will have to look at this tonight when I'm on WiFi.

Comments in reviews seem to indicate problems with movement, poor controls maybe?

There's a link to the Google Play page right in Bateluer's first post.

Two initial impressions from about 20 minutes of gameplay.

1) The game looks aliased as hell. There's no AA at all? I'm not sure if the game is actually being rendered anywhere near the 1080p screen of my Z3.

2) Controls seem alright for a touch game, as well as responsive. Have to see how they hold up during some fights.

The game actually looks better on mobile than it does on PC without modding, you have to mod the PC version of the game just to get 16:9 aspect ratio. The textures themselves appear to be the exact same as the PC version, it appears to be a direct port with a few tweaks to allow touch control and proper dialogue boxes and stuff.

having recently played KOTOR all the way through on the PC, the android version from my 20-30 minutes of play so far, is a very good port. 9/10.

It's been out on iOS for some time now. I've been meaning to pick it. From what I've heard it looks and plays fine. Obviously it's going to be a better experience on a tablet than a phone.

Xbox 360, PS3 & Logitech Dual Action controllers all work with this and if you cycle through the controls it even gives you a the layout of the controller controls. A nice touch more mobile games should copy.

I played the game briefly on my brother's Note 3, just the opening Endar Spire prologue, and it looked mostly like a match for the PC version, but I did notice one thing missing. On PC, when you go into stealth mode, your character turns completely transparent, with only a distorted silhouette giving away your position. On Android, you don't turn transparent, but it just looks like you have some kind of shield projected over you. Any other distortion effects like that -- including, I believe, force pushes and force waves -- would likely be removed from the Android version as well. So KOTOR on PC modded into widescreen still seems to be the best way to experience KOTOR, visually.

That doesn't detract from how cool it is to have the game properly running on smartphones and tablets, though!

Umm, no. It looks awful compared to the Windows version I already have on Disc and Steam.

On an unrelated topic, how long until we get KOTOR 1 Redux?

I played it for the first time on iOS last year. Instantly became one of my all time favorites.

With the trend in RPGs these days, the game's combat would be reduced to 'Press Button to Win' and all the dialog reduced to three options labeled simply 'Light Side', 'Dark Side', and 'Neutral'.

You mean it wasn't that way already?

Are some of you really comparing the visuals to the PC version? Not to mention it's like 95% of the way there but what an absurd comparison in the first place. Do you not use the internet on your phone because it's so inferior to the desktop version too?

Also the only issue with KotOR I have is the lack of a real neutral path but it's still great.

Why not compare them? It's just interesting to see how a full 3D console/PC game from 10 years ago can be made to run on modern phones.
