Hehehehe pity to the early adopters.

SWG needs a visit from the Orkin man, that's all I'm saying.

I'd recommend waiting 3 months before picking it up. At least wait a few a weeks and get some input from early adopters. The Orkin man indeed. And about the release date, i've heard that the 26th is open beta, but you still have to pay to play. No word on official release I don't think.

Am I the only one that doesn't care? All I have heard from my friends in the last 6 months has been "I got in on the Star Wars Galaxy beta test! I am a god!"

Who gives a $hit! :|

<---- Is not a gamer...

Well then your opinion in this matter is quite irrelevant.

I've been playing Shadowbane lately and the game is bugged to hell. But, I met a great many people in game and I've grown to like them.

I would readily move to Star Wars Galaxies if it just didn't have to be Star Wars. When I think RPG, I think dungeons and dragons and old lore. I don't think George Lucas special effects with a stupid bouncy-headed worm with a lisp, a kid yelling YIPPPIE, a crappy actor, etc.. Too much of Star Wars needs to be scoffed at. Unless I hear this game is amazing with no bugs, I am not going to ignore the fact that Star Wars storyline just doesn't belong as part of an RPG.

They are not going to have an "open beta".

After Anarchy Online I vowed that I would never pay for a multiplayer game again. I guess it's Tradewars 2002 for me :)

If it's being released, how can it be an open beta as well?

Anyways, i was playing SWG until a week and a half ago... and unless things have changed drastically, i don't think they're ready.

To anybody that's still in the beta... go see the ewoks if you haven't yet... LOL or at least read the threads about it in the beta forums.

I'm playing it at a friend's house first. He's a heavy star wars nerd and has had the special edition pre-ordered for a while. I'll note every bug I see then laugh that I saved the $50 for a key chain hard drive.

i guess a lot of beta testers think releasing it is a mistake, saying there are still too many problems. i read that lucasarts will be putting out one more patch, and its supposed to fix all the problems. i hope it works, i want this game to be good.

What kind of hardware should run it rather well? I'll buy it if things aren't "too" bad when it is released. I imagine a 9600pro, amd 1900+ and 1g ram should do fine.

Man, I've discovered the beauty of IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles multiplayer. I can play that game 24/7 if i'm on a good server.

I don't need anything else, until Homeworld 2 and/or Deus Ex 2 come out. Loved both the originals, betcha i will love both the sequels.

but IL2:FB is really one of the best multiplayer games of all time.
