Star Wars Galaxies : A Christian Player Asociation

I lurk about now a-days here, but I?ve been quite active in the player association (guild) I joined for Star Wars Galaxies.

I just wanted to get your thoughts on the whole concept of a Christian only PA, we get flamed constantly on the SOE boards for existing at all; and the ATOT community has always been much more friendly than the jerks found at the off-topic board SOE boards.

LordMagnusKain, it's a great idea, actually, and I wish you success with it, but as you can see from Mr. Asshat's response, ATOT is a vary largely anti-everything community, especially if it comes to religion. I'd suggest finding other gaming boards that might be more tolerant to your cause.

Oh, and asshat, er, I mean Moralpanic, if you REALLY feel like you have to take a sh*t on someone's earnest efforts to get a completely positive, legitimate group together, at least voice some sort of response that doesn't portray yourself as an absolutely uneducated dickhead shaftyanker, and maybe say WHY you don't think it would be a good idea.

WTF, how do you know it has anything to do with my religious ideals? Or that the rolling eyes were about that? I just think it's a stupid idea, so i'm entitled to it. It's a STAR WARS GAME if you haven't clued in yet. And the reason why he's been flamed on the official SOE board for posting this was for the same reason. This player association is entirely ingame. It's not an organization you attend to in real life. Just like a Christian guild wouldn't exactly be accepted in the game Everquest, this isn't exactly going to take off in STAR WARS. He's entirely free to start one if he can... but plenty of other PAs are getting flamed for being as equally stupid.

There is some negativity here, but you couldn?t imagine how often we get called Nazis!

It?s crazy! Other PAs get like 20 replies to there threads, we get 300+ then have to start a new one *?cause on UBB threads to big hurt the system* so all the hate and vitriol that they spew only brings more and more people to our PA.

But this place IS a lot more friendly :0)

That?s not true, the gay and lesbian alliance PA got a lot of warm response, and even an olive branch from TheConsecrated

And honestly, the Christian community that has formed has helped a lot of people place God before all else in there lives.

Something important when you?re a Christian who?s resigned to playing 60+ hours a week 🙂

It's a completely open PA that will accept anyone of ANY faith, it's just a way to get more Christians together in one place because they have a lot in common.

Would you similarly flame all Christian messageboards, usergroups, social clubs, etc. as well? Would you similarly flame a guild or association that encouraged black or jewish people to join? I think you would, because you're a closed minded assclown that doesn't know when to shut up.

Yes i would... because it doesn't fit into the STAR WARS galaxy. I think that's the point your missing... this is a STAR WARS game. And i do think that part of the reason why they've been flamed so much on the official SOE boards, is because people's general experience with organized religion in real life. They claim they won't be trying to convert people ingame, but i wouldn't doubt it if some of them start preaching ingame. They're not banned from creating that PA, they're free to try, but there's a reason why they haven't received a welcomed response yet.
