You arent the first guy to get that impression so I think I should point something out right now, this is not an official sequel to the Jedi Knight series. This is a new game with supposedly all new gameplay. Hopefully it will be as fun and maybe even a little reminiscant, but its got little to do with the previous Lucas Arts titles.

Getting excited over this because you like Jedi Knight is like getting worked up for Bridges of Madison County because you absolutely loved Dirty Harry.

Hopefully it wont be as big a disappointment. Though if it ends up being really good, I too want a PC version.

looks cool. they seem to be trying to make it "realistic" but they throw a guy at a TIE fighter and it explodes? wtf? also, breaking the glass in space and the enemies go flying out the window, but your character is completely unaffected? they also throw a guy at some barrels and they explode. just seems like for all the cool stuff, they're still doing unrealistic retarded stuff.

Probably just using those situations as a tech demo... I'm guessing they'll implement the effects in a more realistic way in the shipping product... in the video they keep talking about how they wanted it to be a realistic simulator, so hopefully they'll be true to that. Looks pretty cool... the Euphoria AI seems like it has potential to add some new wrinkles.

Then you thought wrong. In the SW universe laser swords and force powers exist, but so do the vacuum of space and the general principles of physics like gravity, momentum and mass. I don't think asking for consistency with the movie canon is unreasonable. If your character could teleport (beam) from one place to another, fans would complain not because it was unrealistic, but because that technology doesn't exist in that universe (that I know of anyway).

I think it would be ok if there was some explanation like he used the force to keep himself grounded. Seeing as you can move and push things with the force, I don't see why he can't use it to somehow keep himself from flying out. As for the barrels, who knows whats in em, likewise for the tie fighter. Would it be better if some exploded and some didn't?
