You had to get to the F2P Disney part before you gave up hope of it being a good game? It is a Star Wars game, it is mathematically impossible for it to be a good game. Example: every other Star Wars game since X-Wing vs Tie Fighter.

X-Wing Alliance and Raven's Jedi Knight games were all awesome. Even Republic Commando and the Rogue Squadron series were quite good. Though I'll concede your point that there hasn't been much since then.

SWKOTOR 1 - 2 were great RPGs.

The KOTOR MMO has its moments if you stick to the story content.

False advertising unless they have lightspeed (the Millennium Falcon jumps to hyperspace at the end of the trailer and somehow I don't think they will have that).

I hope this is a placeholder game for a true MMOFPS StarWars with space focus.

Though agreed it's been a very long time since LucasArts made a decent Stat Wars game, or a decent game period. Force Unleashed had its moments but got hampered by load times and wonky controls.

The one positive from this trailer is it's set in the original trilogy. I get there's a lot of people who do like the prequels even if they are flawed films. Though there's a just as many if not more fans of the OT, who feel they have been neglected in recent years. This might be the closest we get to a true XWA sequel. Which is a shame. I'd love to see what they could do with modern hardware.

Kotor 1 especially and Kotor II if it had been polished before release were both great games. I also liked Battlefront I and II and Republic Commando.

That said, I am not interested in any online free to play game, star wars or not.

I want epic scale battles. An Imperial Star Destroyer drops out of HS onto a rebel base location and launches fighters and the Rebels defend. Rebels hyperjump a couple squads into an Imperial convoy and hope to get past their escort to blow up the Imperial construction equipment.

Basically, take TIE Fighter/X-wing and make it so EVERY fighter in the scenario is a human. Bonus if you toss in the ability for humans to control capships too.

Spill the details! Is it an actual 3D game like X-Wing / Tie Fighter? (If it is, I think that might be a first for a major F2P.) Is there joystick/gamepad support?

(I'm not expecting anything from this, but it would be refreshing if they actually did that much. Can't sign up for the beta in my region.)
