Keep in mind some of the extras are not in HD, which means there may be PAL/NTSC conversion issues, depending on your BR player and TV. Everything else would play fine, though.

For example, my PS3 can't play some of the extras on the UK-origin Star Trek movie Blu-Rays that I bought.

Thanks for the warning, sphenodont!

Wish deep space 9 would come out in blu ray.

Me too. :'( But it probably won't happen. At least not with the staggering amount of quality that went into the TNG and ToS remasters.

There are a few things missing from this collection, none of which came as huge surprise to us:

Standalone Disc Content: We have confirmed with Paramount UK that no content from the “Best of Both Worlds” disc — nor anything from the “Redemption,” “Unification,” “Chain of Command,” or “All Good Things” discs — will be included as part of this package.

While it would have been nice to include the “Best of Both Worlds” content in this full-series box set, it seems that Paramount UK has chosen to leave it out.

As for the other discs… well, that was always a bit of a long shot, since they were never optioned for release in the UK market at all. You’ll need to buy those separately from the US, Germany, or Australia.

. . .

Best Buy Exclusive Content: This exclusive feature focusing on the Enterprise-D model, The Trek Not Taken, was included as part of Best Buy’s TNG Season 3 Blu-ray release, was relegated to the retailer’s low-quality CinemaNow streaming service.

Paramount Germany later licensed this content for their Season 4 Blu-ray release, where it was available in HD via streaming in that region.

Because of the way this content was created and financed, Paramount UK would have needed to license the feature for release in the UK market — this wasn’t done for the earlier releases, so we’re not shocked to see it missing here." - Trekcore.com

/and yeah, I'd like to have DS 9 on blu-ray as well...

Ended up as $65.76 for me. I'm thinking exchange rate is what is driving this awesome deal? Usually GBP are far higher compared to USD...

Many thanks for this great find, OP!

Well, yeah of course, but strictly speaking it would be more accurate to say "Brexit is what is driving this awesome deal".;) Sucks for them, but works out well for us, their "cousins across the pond", among others...<sigh> Depending on how long it lasts and whether I can find a really good deal on a flight, I might even get a vaguely affordable (or least less unaffordable) week in London out of it at some point. Something that, even as a New Yorker used to NYC prices, I'd given up on a while ago...

The bad news is the EU is falling apart. The GOOD news is we can import Star Trek on bluray for cheap! :)

How on Earth* did you manage to never see even a single episode of Next Generation? Much like its progenitor, it was re-run constantly for years (and years, and years... And for all I know, may still be, I watch very little TV at all these days.)

But to answer your question. As a non-diehard, Star Trek watcher-but-not-"fan" (I'd never buy the discs myself), I'll say it's pretty good, but not spectacular. Basically, it's the most straightforward of the spin-offs - essentially a "modernized" (and of course much longer) version of the original series versus the more situation-specific Deep Space Nine and Voyager. Since it ran so much longer, it was able to develop sub-plots/storylines, over multiple episodes (and/or revisiting them later in the series), much more than the original's basically independent episodes. But it's still the same "generally exploring the galaxy, meeting/greeting/fighting with all sorts of random aliens" concept, with only (the same) very broad underlying "Federation vs The Enemies of Universal Goodness" theme tying it all together. (Plus/but, we got to see Whoopie Goldberg play an extremely long-lived, alien bartender!:hmm: Apparently, she more or less barged her way onto the show, being a huge fan of the original series, and a big enough name that they were willing to "write in" a character for her. Cool work if you can get it.:D)

"The Inner Light" is my favorite Trek episode, and it belongs to TNG. :)
I don't have a "favorite" ST episode, but I do generally like the "Q" episodes quite a bit... (Did "he" ever show up in Deep Space Nine? I know he did in Voyager, at least once, in addition to the numerous TNG appearances...)

No, wait a minute, I thought the bit in the episode where they go back into the past to find out why Data's head had come to be buried on Earth 300 years previously (I think it was that one) - where Data (the future Data, with his head still attached to his body) runs into Whoopie Goldberg (the "past" WG, 300 years younger, sojourning on 19th century Earth as an interstellar sightseer, who hasn't met (future) Data, because that won't happen for another 300 years:sneaky:) chatting with Mark Twain - was rather clever...

Guess what was waiting for me when I got home. It arrived ahead of the Monday the 18th date I was given. It looks and sounds great, and a plus for me is that you can use a mouse to navigate the menus - as I use my computer as my media center and hate using a remote or keyboard.

Feels like it's going to be a Star Trek night.:D
