My buddy who I go to Marvel/Star Wars movies with kept raving about how great this show was.... I watched a few episodes from season one and gave up. (some decent CGI though)

Looks like the whole budget is spent on overly long battle scenes and special efffects. Not much left over for writers. Ill still take it over Discovery.

Alos, I find the sheer number of ships on both sides distracting and implausible. Guess doing away with money in the future (as Picard said) works pretty well for them.

You would think they would have developed different classes of ships? They have The Orville, smaller Orville, and Larger Orville.

The first season was the best one

The second was not bad either. Third was atrocious. Couldn't even watch after the 2nd or 3rd episode.

I hope disliking the show didn't ruin your friendship with your buddy

I was really into it after season 2...but there was such a big gap that season 3 never really gelled with me and I didn't finish watching it. Might have to catch up.

She almost confirmed what we already knew. I actually liked Season 3, particularly some of the episodes, like the time travel one. Only Avis can save us now!
