Aaaannnndddddd that's the end of that series :( Hulu is a graveyard.
Not necessarily. Disney now has full control of Hulu. They seem to want to turn it into a modern streaming version of the Touchstone brand - a place to put mature content without sullying their Disney+ brand. Hulu may get a lot more content very soon.

Yeah, so get ready to bend over and have the fixed content of the world devied out over a million streaming services all charging too much.

Yeah, it seems that 2020 is going to be the year of great SciFi series... that are all behind paywalled subscription services.

Think about it... The Mandalorian, For All Mankind, Star Trek Picard, even The Orville. All of they will require a subscription service to watch. I think that the marketing departments all realized around the same time that Sci Fi watchers seem to have an above average annual income, and can afford to pay extra for their shows. Sucks for all of us!

Unpopular opinion, but tbh, I don't mind. I have Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and Disney+. My "cable" bill now is still $100 less per month than it used to be, and I have instant, on-demand access to like a billion movies now with the click of a button. $40/mo for the convenience of having access to all of those platforms with zero technical effort required? Not bad, I say.

This. My parents still have cable and whenever we are there and end up watching TV for a bit, it is painful! I think the cable companies' solution to digital services is even more commercials than before!

My hunch is that our streaming entertainment bill will eventually be higher than our old cable bills once our favorite shows are spread out over 7 different premium streaming networks.

I see a lot of content getting absorbed into larger companies. Otherwise we're going to see rampant pirating as everyone tries to sell premium access (we're already seeing that).

It's not above average income, it's below average social life. Sci-fi fans never have to pay for dates, so they have plenty left over to sit home alone in their Incredible Hulk Underoos and subscribe to what is essentially uber-geek porn.

Yeah...I mean, I already have like 4 different services. I paid ahead for Disney+ for 3 years to help offset the cost (was something like $4/mo for that deal). Previously I split the services with my immediate family members & we all shared accounts, but now that we're all married, have kids, in-laws, etc. we're all sharing with that crew instead lol. I pretty much handle all of the tech services for my parents & my in-laws, which includes computer, TV, and streaming, mostly due to their age & technical abilities, so really, $40/mo or so isn't all that bad for the amount of content we get access to & how many streams we can have at once.

At this point, all of us have dumped both cable & OTA. No set-top boxes, Tivos, Tablos, etc. anymore. My parents have Sling TV for live-streaming stuff like the news & whatnot, but my work schedule is weird, so I prefer on-demand stuff like Netflix.

I wouldn't fault them for waiting until the pandemic is over before filming. Good show IMO

The last episode aired April of 2019. They almost a full year of waiting before the pandemic even started.

After watching the terrible new Star Trek shows I really appreciate The Orville a lot more. I think it would be a lot more popular if the title didn't sound like it was a show about a family that makes popcorn.
