Since when is it typical a game drops $10-20 less than a month after it comes out? STO came out on the 2nd of Febuary. The price drop was twenty-three days later.

Last time I saw that was MoO3. I remember a short time after it was out you could get it for 10 dollars on amazon with a 10 dollar rebate.

since they got dismal sales.. and need to boost revenue..

would you prefer the company to go bankrupt?
Or try to intice new people by lowering it?

And whose fault is it for buying early?
Definitely not the people who knew it would go down and waited.. :T

<-- still waiting for it to go down to 14.95 + 1 month free... or have a 90 day free + 49.99 deal again.

I wonder why almost no one can make a satisfactory Star Trek game?

Of those that actually captured its essence I think you'd have to go all the way back to Star Trek: Judgement Rites.

I remember about 8-10 years ago, games would drop to $29.99, about 2 week after it came out. Later down the road it was $34.99 and then started to see $39.99. This is was just looking at Best Buy and Circuit City fliers. I haven't really payed attention anymore since then but price drops shortly after launch are normal to me this soon.

I disagree. Starfleet Command 1/2, Bridge Commander and Elite Force 1/2. BC was the closest thing to playing a Star Trek movie. SFC was the original Star Trek combat simulator. The EF games were both competent shooters AND good Trek stories.

Of course, everything else is just crap with a Star Trek skin.

Yeah, but gameplay was based on Starfleet Battles in those games, not the actual canon Star Trek.

That's what actually made it decent.

Star trek armada 1 and 2 were awesome as well for people who like RTS anyways.

I forgot about those games. They were pretty good RTS'. They were just about the only games to ever address the fact that the Galaxy class can separate.
