Star Trek Online -- effectively canceled, with LOL screenshots

Doesn't look that bad? 😕
though I do think the Star Trek universe isn't a great for a MMORPG. It's a bit too uniform and Utopian for such a game.

Maybe but a lot of players found Eve boring,what do you want pretty graphics or gameplay?..Personally its nice to have both but I'll take gameplay as my choice between the two(graphics) anytime.

Yeah, um... EVE doesn't look like that on a system that you're actually playing the game on. There's settings applied for taking screenshots specifically.

In honesty, STO didn't look that bad, the first pic was missing some FSAA, but all in all the UI and graphics looks pretty good.
 
Yeah, compare it to Star Wars Galaxies or World of Warcraft. Sure, it didn't look up to par with 2008 standards, but most people still are running on 2003 era hardware.

not only is EVE boring as hell, but its just a glorified database program.

there's also no way those are actual ingame screenshots of EVE. I've played it and its nowhere near that.

Those EVE screenshots were taken using the new Trinity engine, and the models are accurate.
 
I STO ground combat looks like total ass. The ship shot is "ok" but it looks like a cartoon, which is not what Trek is meant to be.
 
I would probably end up buying it for one free month and then deciding if its good enough. Looks good to me.
