As for the deal, this will piss off the wife seeing as she made me get rid of my VHS set with the promise of letting me replace them with DVDs. She hoped I would forget... haha.

I think what was eating at her wasn't the fact that you owned the VHS tapes, but that you'd dress up in uniform to watch them, even when guests were over at the house.

As for the deal, I would be guilty of an impulse buy... if I were human.

Called them yesterday.. And they were beginning to fill all the backorders...Person on phone said we should be getting a e-mail verification soon..

I didn't even know this was posted till now...but I ordered it when it was on pre-order. I got the email last night. Growing collection of Star Trek DVDs, probably more than I should be allowed to have. I've no boss (wife) 😛 like some of you fellas!

My wife is the family Trekkie...

I ordered my set on 11/5/07, and still haven't received any notification that it's being shipped. The order status on their web site says "Processing". I just e-mailed customer service to find out when I will receive mine - hopefully it'll come in time for Christmas.

FYE stores now have this set for $29.99. No rebates required.

Is that in the flyer for the stores? I went online but its going for $79 and Deep Discount is now $68 for this collection.

FYE link - http://www.fye.com/Star-Trek--...Id455366VVviewprod.htm

I'll have to stop by an FYE B&M to see.

B&M only. No idea about whether it's in a flyer or not. It is in their computer system chain wide so it will ring up the $29.99 price whether marked or not. Mine was actually marked correctly. They had a table up front with a lot of boxed sets on sale. Also check the rest of the store where box sets are if not up front.

Yup, great find!

I stopped by last night and they had it marked original price $89.99 and marked down to $29.99 - Cool!

I got the last one at the FYE in Danbury, CT but there could be more in the mall FYE.

Thanks for the update, I was looking for this for a gift and almost caved in to the $95 price that Deep Discount DVDs was going to charge me just after their preorder deal changed.

Thanks again!

good deal, but i hesitate to buy any "set" when another movie is being made right now. that just makes your "set" obsolete in a year.

You'd better wait. Once this set becomes "obsolete" you just won't be able to watch these DVD's anymore; at least not with any measure of enjoyment.

Be sure to kill yourself if, after waiting another year, they actually make yet another film!

The FYE by me just sold out today. They said someone bought all 4 of them....I'm sure those will end up on eBay. They have one held for me at another local FYE, though the price at that store is $44.99, so they may have raised the price slightly. Even at that price, this is still a great deal, though.

Yes, now $44.99.
