Staples Z-Line Legacy glass L-desk $79.94

oh my god. I have that exact same case with a similar fan controller (blue LEDs) and a 22'' CRT next to a 17"" CRT. If I get that desk we will be eerily similar!
 
The shots are from AT members from the last time this went on sale, which I had just missed.
The Staples pic makes it look flimsy and cheap, so that's why I included the other pics. I like the L shape since it "wraps around" for a convenient work environment, and the fact that it's glass and black means it doesn't appear to take up a lot of space.
This is a great value.
 
How sturdy is this table? I've seen the wooden Z-Line table and the longer side of the L-table isn't too sturdy. It bends easily with little force.

Can one put a 21 inch trinitron on the short side, one 21 in on the corner, and two trinitrons on the long end?
 
I have two towers, a laptop, a 19"crt and a 19"lcd on this desk, and it is still very sturdy.

Looks pretty good for that price, I might have to go check it out. The drawer would have to support my force feedback wheel however that is hooked up very often so that part needs to be sturdy.
 
If anyone else gets this desk and owns a computer wheel can you report on how well the wheel attaches to the drawer as well as how stable it seems to be while in use? Thanks. More pictures are welcome too.

Also how can that guy in pic2 work like that.

It's 23.5" deep. I suggest leaving a couple of inches or more away from the wall so you can push the crt back further. I had my monitor just like in pic2 and I know what you mean about how unconfortable that is, but that's the only place my 21" monitor would fit. The other problem I had was the tray, it was too low for me. The height of the desk is 29" and the tray is 4.5" below the desk. This was somewhat of a problem for me since the tray was pretty much on my lap when I would pull it out. I managed to raise the desk by 2" so that I could sit down confortably without the tray bothering me. I also moved the monitor to the left and now the monitor is straight in front of me. Anyways, it looks very nice once you have it all assembled. The tempered glass should be able to handle all the monitors you can fit on top of it, but the reason I'm so confident of this is because the metal frame supporting the glass underneath.
 
I have had this desk for awhile, works out great and is sturdy, the only complaint i have is the lack of storage
 
Thanks for that info shoplifter.. going to do some measurement tests now with my current desk to see if this one will work out.
 
i have this desk. plenty sturdy assuming you connect the L. standing alone they arent as stable. i only have an lcd, printer, and laptop on there so i havent put too much weight on it
 
I hate to bump this old thread, but figured it would probablly be better then making a new one somewhere. Does anyone know the specs on this desk? I am wondering if it will fit in my corner. I am basiclly looking for the numbers on how far each side of the L shape sticks out fromt he corner. I imagine its probablly between 3-4 feet, but more accurate numbers would be great.
 
I have been waiting around for the desk to come back on sale now that I'm getting an apartment I need a new desk and would love this one... but not for 140$

for 150$ you could probably use the dimensions from it, cuz they are very similiar... Officemax looks nicer though 🙂
 
Yeah I know about the officemax one. But for dimensions, its lists width as 65" if I recall, how the heck did they measure that? I doubt its 65" for each leg of the L. I kinda thought the OM one looks a bit better, but I like the black of the staples one, and the fact that it is 8mm glass as opposed to the OM's 6mm. I'm sure the OM one is plenty stable, but I am weary of putting so much weight on a glass desk.
