staples wont price match? Sony DCM-30(warm deal)

Hello all,
been lurking for a while, havent had money to really spend on stuff. I found a Sony DCM-30 for $318 (warm deal) and wanted to Pmatch with staples and get the $40 off 200 and free shipping. Called and the gentleman on the phone said he couldn't pricematch. Should i try calling again, and can you use coupons after a PM? Sorry if im out of place asking this in here. Basically a newb

I've always bought the item at Staples online, used the coupon, use DASH, etc....

Then I call up and ask politely for a PM.

Doing this accomplishes two things:

1. There's no arguement over if it's in stock, you'll know if it is online.
2. You can use the online coupons without someone denying for some lame excuse. Also, I've had problems using online coupons when speaking with a CSR, since it's a phone order at that point.
3. If you ask nicely, they will usually comply with your wishes...
4. Sometimes you get by with no shipping cost. I'm assuming since the original order gets processed with no shipping, and it's just an adjustment.

I've had 100% luck using this method, but the key is to be nice. Calling up acting smug and demanding that they heed to your every whim will get you nowhere...

If they don't do it, you can always call back and try for someone else, or cancel the order on the spot. You won't be able to use that coupon code again without some grief though...

Keep on calling.. there will be a CSR that will let you price match..
Some CSR's are Pen*sHeads that think they lose something when they help a fellow consumer out..

Hmm, it was a signup bonus when you signed up for MCI small business plan. I Fix computers locally so it was perfect for me. Also, I'm pretty sure that deal is over with by now. sorry

My advise is to place the order online and use the coupon first. Then call back or use Live Support to do PM. That way you can leave the coupon issue to the side and only concentrate on PM. If they give you a hard time, simply ask them to cancel the order and do it again.
