I figure their must be others in the same boat as me... about 3 months ago bough and sent for this
supposed "free" copy of the mentioned software and now they are failing to meet the offer and
I am confident there are MANY others who are being screwed out of this rebate as well.

I mailed two seperate rebates in the same day (one for the
> delta cdrom and the other for siren jukebox).
> As of 1/3/00 the siren jukebox still says awaiting paperwork
> and I have already received the check from the delta cdrom.
>
> I called the week of december 20th and the customer service
rep said they are processing it (and that THEY HAD RECEIVED A TON OF REBATES and its taking
them time to catch up) but they claimed they had received all paperwork
for the siren jukebox but since your website still doesn't indicate
that> I though I should email you. Please confirm the status of
the jukebox rebate.

Here is their reply...
We are sorry to inform you that we will not be able to honor
your rebate request. Sonic Foundry has closed this particular rebate promotion.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If
you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at
rebates@parago.com

------
I had in fact submitted ALL material before the deadline and was already told they had the
items and we're processing... now they are claiming my material was not submitted.
I have asked for company information so that I can forward it to the attorney general and
figure their must be MANY others who are being screwed out of their rebates as well.

There is a VERY simple way to make sure your Staples rebates don't get lost:

Enter them online, and print out their "envelope". This way, it is in their system, and you will receive an e-mail when the paperwork is received. If this doesn't happen before the end of the promotion, then WRITE THEM AN E-MAIL (something I have not yet had to do).

I have received notes from time to time that paperwork was missing, and a simple follow-up phone call has ALWAYS done the trick.

I did that and the time till end of promo was so close they said to wait a week or two more. Now I have to fax in reciepts and crap. They have lost so many peoples paperwork -- yes even w/ that online rebate system. Its not Staples, its rebateshq.com whom they and other people (e.g. Sony) use for rebates. Very horrible company to handle rebates .. but, you live, you learn.

AFAIK this goes in the "brag and moan" thread. This does not look like a hot deal to me.

Hopefully this will get deleted or locked, but before you get all frantic, just call staples and talk to a manager and I'm sure he will gladly refund your money. This is not a big deal, and certainly doesn't belong here. Post this at Fat Wallet, they like to waste everyone's time reading "Warnings."

the thread title makes it quite clear that this is not a hot deal amnesiac 2.0; So i don't know why you're complaining about not finding a deal (read the friggin thread title!)

but yeah it probably does belong in brag and moan (but no-one ever reads that)

Yes this may not be a deal but... maybe a forum for things like this. at least to warn others. I have sent rebates into staples myself and have had problems with almost everyone of them. I'm still having problems with the peachtree rebate. It seems it's hard to get rebates from staples.

They are trying to screw me over too on these rebates. They received all my paperwork but they said I was missing the UPC barcodes which I absolutely sent. Staples totally sucks. God I hate them with a passion.
