I suspect someone screwed up on this one, but their loss is our gain. On top of deeply discounted prices, there's an in-store 60% off coupon for these drives as well. The coupon doesn't state an exception for previous discounts.

[Deletion] I had to get a manager's override because the list price came up when the cashier scanned it. But they didn't give me any grief about overriding it once they verified the displayed price.

Two notes: First, it's "only" USB 2.0. Second, a lot of on-line reviews note various problems using, or trying to use, the drive on tablets and phones. Apparently Sandisk mentions in relatively small print that it only works on some Android devices. (See http://kb.sandisk.com/app/detect.) Personally, I just bought it to use as a regular flash drive -- $16 for a 64GB drive ain't bad...

Oops. Apparently I missed that, since I was planning to go to the B&M store in any event. Will edit.

Got this last Friday. It rang up at $99.99. The store manager wasn't happy about it, but he matched the .com price and approved the coupon. Thanks for posting this, Mike.

After I posted here, I noticed it had also been posted at Slickdeals and whether people got it or not seems to be all over the board. Some stores wouldn't apply the coupon after matching the website price, some would, in some places, like my store, the floor displays were already discounted, so even though the register originally rang up the MSRP, they didn't have a choice but to give me both discounts. (I didn't check the dates, but I suspect the displayed discount was a prior deal, that hadn't been taken down yet.)

How's the write speed on the drive?
I haven't benchmarked it, or even used it extensively, but it seems pretty slow. And a little wonky, at that. It transfer the files, then hangs for a fairly long time before finalizing the copy. I definitely wouldn't want to use it to run a USB-based OS, or something like that. I got it to plug into my router, to access files from my Kindle, so speed didn't matter much for my use.

I got this last week too. The store was out but I ordered it from the terminal, paid at the register with the coupon, and there was no problem.

This is a sign that the file cache was used and the fast-removal option is on, so the cache needed to be emptied before Windows would tell you it was done with the copy.

I hadn't looked before, but I just checked the properties and it's actually set for "optimize for performance." I don't know why, but in fact, that whole tab in properties is greyed out and can't be changed, and least not from there...
