I bought Widows Xp Full Version from staples.com, than realized i dont full i can get upgrade or oem version so i called staples to return it they said driver will come to pick it up from 8am to 5pm and i am usually not home and no safe place to leave it anywhere pick it up, so i went to staples store in the evening to return it, its in plastic sealed box and never opened and with receipt, so manager was not there so staples clerk took receipt and the box went in office upstairs to ask manager if she can accept it for return, so i wait for around 10min. She comes back the box is cut with scissors and inside of windows seal broken, she tells me manager said not to accept it, i asked her why not she said she doesnt know to return it to staples.com , I told her I wanna speak to manager, wait 10min more he comes out saying that windows is not sealed that there are fingerprints on cd inside and he had enough balls to say if i would come to store honestly saying it has been opened he would accept it. I told him I swear I didnt touch it and I know its his fingerprints sicne he opened it in his office and holded cd. now i am stock with opened windows xp and its manager word against mine. I am gonna try corporate office but I dont think it will help. I suggest you next time not to let manager take product with him make him take you with him or make him do it front of you. Any ideas what should I do

I would confront the store clerk, you have the cd with his finger prints on it, he has nonething.
I would also get the clerks name that took him the cd, she was present and saw him do it.
I would ask the manager to seee the regional manager......

I hate Staples, I always get crap service from them, they are always out of stock on whatever I need... that store stinks, imo.

I've solved this problem for myself by using a local small pc repair guy! I have him get me whatever i need and his prices stay right in the middle of the ecommerce range. He takes care of all RMA's regardless of what's wrong with it or whether it was my fault. The companies he deals with do not ask questions because he brings them lots of business. Take my word for it, if you can find a guy like this near you, it's well worth the extra money you pay him to eliminate these headaches!!!!!!

Don't they have security camera's in every room? Just call the cops and ask them to check the security tapes.. Busted!

if i had some kind of proof, he would definetly loose his job over thing like that. it's not like he loosing money if he accepts a return, plus it was within company policy it was sealed i returned next day after i received it

Staples does majorly suck. I called them last night because I wanted to spend $199 on an HP OfficeJet v40 apparently I'm on "restricted" status and they cannot accept any orders from me, LOL.

Then I go to a local Staples and they're OUT OF STOCK. Best Buy was also out of stock. Office Depot has them but for $50 more and I wasn't in the mood to price match.
