I wonder how these are

I've got a pack of Memorex DVD+Rs from a month ago from Bestbuy that are RITEK-R03-02. Worked 100% of the time so far.

Watch out for CMC and MBI media under the memorex label. some folks have been having problems with these. Can you post what Manufacturer codes you guys received?

Also, I noticed last week that Sam's Club has the 50-pack Verbatim DVD+R/-R for about the same price ($17-20 out the door).

I've always had good luck with Memorex DVD media, but is Verbatim considered better?

It depends who the disc manufacturer is. Last time I bought Verbatim (thinking I was getting quality discs), I ended up getting CMC. 2/3 of those discs have read errors. Not just one or two red blocks, half the disc turns red. They are pretty much useless. Its one thing if I buy 100 pk for $20 from a noname company like longten . Atleast I know what to expect (actually they turned out far better than CMCs). Remember, just having a successful burn is not enough, you should be able to read the burned disc error free. Too bad, somewhat decent companies like Verbatim selling crappy discs like CMC. It only hurts them in the long run.

Well, I picked up the pack of Teon DVD+R from Staples on Black Friday, and they are CMC discs. Granted, they aren't Ricoh or Ritek, but I'm suprised at the lack of errors that Kprobe is reporting.

Definately middle of the road, but they work fine in my players. It's a shame that the TDK media from Staples has recently been CMC for me. 🙁

I got some of the teon from staples and mine work fine but a friend got the same and nothing but problems burning and then reading them also but he is using a external drive.

By the way, slightly off-topic. But i bought a bunch of ESA brand discs from CC and they're also CMC discs. Granted all 20 i've burned so far are reading properly.

guess i was lucky. The teon 40 pack i have is made by MCC. It burned pretty weill with my lite-on 832 but really horrible with my 1633@1653. been trying a lot of different firmware but not so great burn

I picked up some of the 25 spindles of Khypermedia DVD+R 8X at OfficeMax this weekend for $8 each or $5 AR. They are Philips.C08 media code. I burned about 10 discs to full capacity using DVDShrink/Nero at 8X on my NEC 2500A and they Nero verified, block scanned and Kprobed good. I also got a 25 spindle of the Maxell DVD+R 8X at OfficeDepot for $10. I haven't burned any yet but they are MAXELL.002 media code and my Benq 16X burner wants to burn them at 12X.

MCC is supposed to be pretty good. Verbatim is using them for their 8x media. Any comments on MCC media?

I have some MCC003 verbatim 8x disks. They're very nice, burn great on my NEC 2500 and Benq 1620. They don't burn that great on my lite-on 832S (that's why I own the NEC and Benq and only use the lite-on for scanning/reading). A few posts up, someone mentioned the Sam's Club verbatim 50 pack. These are supposed to be MCC002 (4x) disks, also very good.

I purchased the 50 pack for $20 and ran DVD ID:
