Staples has the DX 3G large screen Kindle on add next week for 299? Are we seeing the long awaited price drop at last? This is $80 off.
Depends on what version of the kindle dx it is. There is more than one version. The older version is only $329 at Amazon. Perhaps they're planning a sale as well?http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Readi...1065750&sr=8-3 If not, that's still $30 cheaper.
Unless the Staples sale is for the newer graphite model. Then it's $80. No idea though. Do you have a link for the Staples sale?
this is a freakin hot deal for $300. i just bought mine too. damn!
i have the ipad and a kindle dx. there is no way in hell you can read books on the ipad for an extended period of time. why? its heavy to hold comfortably longer than 30 mins. and after 1hr, your eyes get that effect of looking at the monitor too long. if you want to read till you drop, the kindle is the way to go!
kindle dx is awesome for reading pdf and manuals. i somewhat regret buying it because its too big! maybe i shoulda bought the 6inch version for portability. but then i prefer the dx cause it feels like im holding a newspaper.
I agree that eink is great for long stretches of reading, I just think the larger size of the DX is kind of awkward compared to the 6" Kindle when to comes to reading books, mainly because you lose a lot of portability with the larger size. When it comes to newspapers and magazines, I much prefer an iPad or similar tablet, since they are much better when it comes to displaying pictures and graphics, and skipping around to different articles. I tried reading magazines on my Kindle, but it was never an enjoyable experience because the Kindle user interface doesn't lend itself well to non-linear reading the way a touchscreen tablet does.
