I'd do some research before buying the Netgear router. I have the 624 (super-G) and it has a known reboot problem that is pretty annoying.

Thinking of picking this up. My laptop has a 802.11b card already and I dont think that I'll be buying a 802.11g card anytime soon.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thats the MR814, it's one of the best "B" routers out there. Highly recommended.

Yeah, why the hell would anyone need anything more than 802.11b for web surfing and occasional file sharing ? and especially going for such a dufus standard like the "g" which degrades performance below "b" at anything over 100 feet. A standard which was obsolete even before being approved, in fact companies were selling improved versions of "g" even before "g" itself was standardized. It's just a lousy intermediate solution, which is only 1/6 the throughput of the upcoming 802.11n.

There are plenty of bad ones (MR814's). Unfortunately, I got one.

FYI, staples rebates has required the org. reciept, rebate form (if buy from B&M) or org. packing slip (if buy from online). Before a photocopy is ok (refer to online), but now you are certain to get a postcard.... prepare to call in.

I had one bad one too. However, I returned it for another, and it works like Tony the Tiger..., GGGGGRREEEEAAATTTTTTTTT. lol Sorry, just had to do that. I actually now own 2 of these, and they work very well. I also have a new Netgear G-router, but these 814's work so well that I really don't see a point in swapping these out. (ok, I'm a bit lazy as well) The point is that these work well and the rebates don't take forever to come back.

So if I want to buy a bunch of FAR stuff online to take advantage of the Discover 10% offer and all require the original packing slip, that means I'll have to call the rebate center? The 10% off is only valid for orders above $100 so you can't separate your FAR items into separate orders in order to get an original packing slip to send for each item.

The LCD is really a TV, not a TV/monitor, as Maximum Resolution = 800 x 600

Hipd you should upgrade your 624 firmware if you haven't.

Would like a little better deal on the CD's, but I'm all out, so it looks like I will be hitting up staples tomorrow.

Thanks OP

just a comment on the maxtor drives:

If you visit their site, you will see that the 60GB and 200GB drives have a "coupon" applied to them. That means you are limited to 1 and only 1 of the item per transaction. Typically, they will not SCAN at the final price when you ask for a price check in store. The coupon will be entered automagically at checkout only.

Does anyone have a link to the Sterling modem manufacture's page? I can't find any detailed information on this modem or drivers to download. I can't even find the manufacturer's page.

Answered my own question:

Just a FYI

On the Casio, KL-60 Label Maker FAR
You just have to send in the Original Receipt and the Rebate Form..
NO UPC Needed!

Neat Eh?
