I just got back from local Staples(4th Av,Brooklyn NY) on lunch break. In THAT stores circular it states 4X Imation DVD-r and DVD+r on sale $24.94. They are located on the table next to the cashiers. They are labled 4X, but i can't find them on Staples.com.
They look just like these..
People say that they burn at 8X.
There were 8 spindles left on table after i left store. I took 4 and 4.

edit: Ok,got chance to get circular from car. it's "Minumum 20 per store".
SKU 504847-DVD+R, 504848-DVD-r.

Are you sure of the quality of these DVDs? I have heard that they are of less than stellar quality. These have been on sale all week but I have held back because of the quality issue. Anyone else care to chime in? If someone can prove me wrong I will be one of the first to head down to Staples.

Hmmm... Are you sure that the DVD-Rs were 4x as well? I'm tempted to go that that store and pick up a pack, but I'm already splitting a 100pk of G04s.

Did these come packaged just in the spindle, or where they enclosed in a box? My local staples had these, however I passed because they were in a box that didn't have the speed rating on it.

The black bottom spindles at our local staples DVD-r are CMC's not bad with the nec 2500a. Office depot next door has the grey bottoms not sure what they are yet.

A quick search on DVDRhelp shows that the -Rs are CMCs and that the +R are a toss-up between Ricohs and CMCs. That doesn't help much if you want the +Rs, but for a -R guy like me, it means all the difference.
