This is a great deal, can you use both the $20.00 dollar rebate for the hard drive, and the $50.00 rebate for the Kit?

According to this thread:

the drive is going to be 79.99 starting Sunday. Actually, re-reading HawkeyeNJ's post above, he confirms it, although he also states there ISN'T a price drop, which contradicts what he posted.

So it sounds like its better to wait till Sunday to get it, since after the rebate its $60, which beats out the $80 it costs now. If you use that 30 off 100 coupon now, you won't be able to pricematch it. I'm going to wait till Sunday, get an addition $40 worth of stuff, then use the coupon on top of that (got other rebate stuff there).

not to sound silly, but why would you want to pm if the price is already at $49? Is the B&M price lower than that?

I've read this thread and can't figure out how you get the rebate option if you order online. I assume the B&M has rebate coupons of some kind -- or do these come with the product? Thanks

I called their 1-800 # to ask about the PM and rebate, and a guy who I can hardly understand says I can't do it at the store, the website is separate. BS, so I take a quick look at staples.com

Our Goal: 100% customer satisfaction. If for any reason you are unhappy with a product purchased from Staples, you may return it within the applicable time frame. Your purchase price will be refunded, exchanged or you will be issued a credit equal to your original purchase price.

Staples.com items can also be returned to a store but you must bring the packing slip, or email confirmation.

Also, my packing slip shows $99.99+tax(cuz the coupon credit came on the slip for the other item I ordered, the msn cd). Ahh, I can smell that $35 hard drive.

Okay here's how I see it.

B&M - This is the only place where the price drop will occur. I don't see anything about it dropping to this low online. If that is the case, it'll be $79.99 - 20 MIR = 59.99 + tax.

Online - This is $99.00 - 30 coupon - 20 = 50 + tax.

Since the B&M has no 30/100 coupons then how would buying it at the B&M beat online? And what is all this pricematching you guys are talking about? What are you trying to match?

Jeraden:

The drives are still in stock. What will availability be on Sunday, when the price is SUPPOSED to change?

Following your logic: Order the $140 worth of stuff now, THEN come back and try to PM.

Moganga,

If you order online, near the end of the checkout process, you will be allowed to enter one or more coupon numbers (which you can find at various deal sites, e.g. tXchbXrgXXns.com). I found the process totally painless (for you, but not for your wallet), and beats having to call up a zillion time trying to PM and all that 🙂.

Count me in, I just placed the order online. Too hard to pass up $50 for a decent drive.

...and just when I was getting my spending under control! Darn you guys and your hot deals! Darn you to Heck!

Damn people - do your homework. If there's an online rebate, it will be on Staples website when you purchase the item....

I ordered one now instead of waiting till sunday (remember the iomega 12x10x32 cdrw deal)anyway for $50.00 net its still a hot deal

Thanks for this awesome deal. I just ordered one along with a USB cable for that $9 Canon Printer 🙂

Now I just have to bring my receipt in for the $20 adjustment this Sunday....

I ordered the 40gig with the ultra ata 100 card back in november to get the $50 rebate on the card its impossible. I send it in the next day after I bought the drive and ultra ata100 card together in one receipt. About a month ago, they mail me a card saying that the upc I send them from the card is invalid. Which is BS. I matched exactly the same one they have on their on the rebate form. So I called up rebate HQ, and they claim that from the post card I received that I send in the wrong UPC. There is only one UPC on the Ultra ATA 100 box and they said they don't have it and see if I made a copy and if I can send them another copy. <More BS>. Luckily I did have a copy and I faxed it to them and right now a month later and I still didn't getting nothing back yet. :|
Did anyone receive their rebate from the last promotion?

lundogg - How do you plan on getting that $20 price adjustment if you used the coupon? I really don't see this working, I don't understand how you guys plan on doing this?

Go to OD to buy the ATA 100 Controller and give the cashier the $15 off coupon, total will be $35 plus tax, combine with the hard drive to get $50 back, so you will gain about $15 more, great deal. 🙂

@ most of Staples B&M, they have those online PCs. You can use them to make online purchase. When you click on check out, one of the option will be "Pay at Casher". Click on that and it will print out the order form. Take that to the cahser, pay for it. If they do what they are suppose to. Then they will deliver the goods to you like they usually do. If they don't you can pick up the goods that day ( my Kodak DC2100 was the case).

The good thing about that is I will have a copy of the register receipt, so I can use it to have the price adjustment this Sunday. I hope ......

Spice is right on.

An alternative I used was to call the OD phone order desk (888-GO-DEPOT). They can check stock at your local B & M, take your order AND ACCEPT THE COUPON. This way, you don't have to drive around looking for a store that has them in stock, and risk having to haggle over the coupon.

Dear london22:

when i order from staples.com, and do checkout, i did not see a option of pay cashier, can you tell me where is it?

I ordered my popcorn & HD last weekend,
and I think the popcorn is going to beat my HD here.
So I guess I won't have any popcorn to eat
while I'm installing it.😀😉

Okay. Anyone find a good deal on the controller card?
I looked at Office Depot but could not find any listed.
Here's the CONTROLLER CARD at Staples.
Here's the Maxtor REBATE on the card.
Here's the Sanford PENS that are free with code 88794 ...yes, I tried it and it works; just adding the pens to the card (above $24 is all that's required along with purchasing the pens).
See above posts for further explanations.

Looking for BEST DEAL on controller card!😛

EDIT: Anyone care to explain why none of my links automatically click? I can cut/paste the URL, but nothing happens when clicked?
