dajo: something about the fact that not all coupon codes are meant for the public eye - such as promotional codes and such. For example - let's say Dell puts out a code that has 250 off 1000. BUT, they only send this code to special "heavy buyers" like large small businesses and such. Well, some person in that small business gets the code and then gives it to a friend who posts it on a forum. It gets around and suddenly a "special" code becomes the deal of the week. Dell stands to lose a LOT of money they hadn't anticipated to lose and now they're looking to take a piece of as* out of those forums tied to legitimate businesses who posted the code to recoup some of their losses...sometimes codes ARE permissable on AT - but just as long as they have written legal affadavits from the company allowing the codes to be posted. So the reasons are solely legal.
