Someone beat me to the store in Valparaiso, IN. I did manage to pick up the rest of the regular DVD's though. And when I left there were still about 10 packs of the Lightscribe CD-R's (I'd have gotten those too, if I had a Lightscribe burner. As it was, I grabbed a pack for future consideration...).

I went to two different stores in my area on Sunday. Both were completely cleared out of the DL's. I wonder if these had a limit (like only 2 per household).

Ugh, out at both Birmingham AL stores (that was a waste of $3 gas!).
At the second store, the kid behind the register REALLY knew what he was doing. He went into some AS/400 DOS screen and typed in a bunch of stuff and verified that all stores in the area are out. He said he could order me some, but that they would be the regular price of $15. I said, "it would be a different price, even though it's the same product with the same sku?" and he said yes. I don't really see how, but like I said, this guy really knew his stuff. And it's not worth risking a long drive out there again to pick them up if they ring up at $15. Sheesh, I really wanted these.

Dual Layer is now priced around $2 a piece so this isn't a special deal or anything. You can buy 25 packs for $50 if you need that many.

Where can I buy good quality Verbatim DL Media for $2 a piece. Let us all know so we can buy them. If it is not special show us where. You must know of a source I don't. And this is $1.83 per disc.... Just to be technical :)

Verbatim is great and 1.83 per disc is great I just wanted people to know that the price on these dual layer media is falling like a rock. A local store here was selling them for $60 and now they are $20 for a 10 pack.

Production must be ramping up.

What brand are those $2.00 discs? In my experience you usually get what you pay for unless there is a "special" deal like these Verbatims.... There is a lot of junk media that is fine if you don't mind crappy to nonexistant playback.
But I hope that you are right and production is ramping up.
