Is this a good deal?
No, it is not the 8mb version or it doesn't appear to be anyways. Even if it were there have been lower price per gig deals lately. Suposedly all the mfgs. are clearing out thier PATA drives. Besides this is only an $18 savings AR over newegg's price. It doesn't mean it might not be worth it, just not something one should jump on.

Last time Staples had this sale on these drives, I jumped on it. The result was three consecutive Maxtor 120gb drives that completely crashed with no recovery within 5 weeks. Kept replacing them one after the other. They all died. Finally told Staples that I wanted my money back because all they sell is Maxtor and I wanted to end the vicious cycle. I then put a WD120gb in, and have had no trouble at all since. Maybe it was a bad lot or something; it was crazy.....

NEC 19" flat CRT MS97f #494459 $199.98 after mail-in rebate Save $50.

I'm thinking about buying one of these, for about $160 shipped after coupons and rebates.
Not the cheapest NEC model, but still "designed for value-driven consumers" according to one vendor listing.

Any feedback: good, bad, or ugly?

I think the Cendyne is an NEC and is a good deal. I'm really frustrated that no Staples coupons are available at this time.

Good deal! If you are lucky you might get infineon 2700 memory in the package. I got that one time before but everytime I go for this ram now most of it is Spectek chips, but you might find 1 nanya here or there. I've checked at least 4 staples, mostly spectek.
