Wow, not that is a nice deal too. I wouldn't mind picking up the Logitech Wave set for $15.

Didn't mention the Sony 100 pack CD-Rs for only $16.00 so I'm gonna break that out separately. Hard to find decent deals on CD-Rs any more.

Tried to pricematch the MS 4000 keyboard/mouse at BB here and they said that it was a manufacture instant coupon and they couldnt price match it as they would lose money or some crap like that. Oh well, its their policy and they can deny whatever they want. Its sold out online apparently and they said to check back on Tuesday as thats typically when they get their shipment in.

Funny you say that, I remember when Staples had *good* deals and CD-R's were FAR. I, literally, had 1800 in my drawer here. I used to give them away like candy.

Move forward several years, I now have about 50 left and just can't bring myself to *buy* CD-R's.

On the keyboard, I logged on last night at 2AM my time. The website was hosed like it always gets before they change the ad, then it finally popped back about 2:15 or so.

Problem was there was not qty or price box on the keyboard page. Refreshed many times and finally called Staples. She said she could take manual order but that was a guaranteed way *not* to get the item as they are manually processed on Monday and by that time all of the items are usually gone.

Kept refreshing the page and finally the qty/price box came up, placed order then the cart would not accept the coupon. Finally 15 or so minutes later it took the coupon. I place 2 separate orders for the BBU and keyboard.

In the meatime I watched the keyboard stock drop from 800 down to 126 in just a few minutes.

I fully expect to either:

Get the typical, dreaded OOS message from Staples
or
Get shipped an Optical set like when they screwed us on BF.

We shall see but I'm not holding my breathe.

What perplexes me is the first order I placed has a higher order # than the last one.

I went to Staples this morning to grab the KB/Mouse, and the Sony DVD+Rs.
They had no KB/Mouse combos on the shelf, not even a space for them. I was wandering around the store and found a shopping cart full of them (15+) sitting in the aisle where they keep the bulk candy, pretzels, coffee, etc.
I pushed the cart up to the KB aisle and left it there, after taking mine of course. :)
Staples always does weird shit like that...

Mmm. I called my local Staples and was put on hold, interminably. After 10+ minutes I hung up and called back (at least they answer the phone) and got a different person, who apologized. He said they are out of the keyboard mouse. I went online and they are OOS too.

I grabbed the last two because I am starting to hate Bluetooth combos. It's a pain if you need to get into the BIOS and I have to re-connect too much. I'll either return the 2nd or give it to the 'rents.

I indirectly scored 4 of the Microsoft Wireless Laser 4000's. It took a bit of work, though.

It's gonna be nice to finally rid myself of all these old keyboards and mice. :)

First I checked the Christiansburg, VA store at 10am (I was first in the store) and they were "sold out".

I had my sister check the Brockton, MA store and my dad check the Weymouth, MA store and they too were sold out. :(

Finally my mother struck gold at the Wareham, MA store where they amazingly still had 11 left in stock.

This deal took a lot of effort, but worth it in the end.

Is Tuesday for your pricematch, your local Staples or Staples online?

I ordered the Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse at full price online last night (before the deal price had set in), for delivery. They did not have a store pick up option. So, after they deliver it, mid-week, I presume (very likely on Tuesday), I plan to take it to the local Staples store with a print out of page of the e-flier showing the keyboard and the sale price, and also a print out of the online online price from today (of course, it does not show the Buy button, because it is sold out). I will ask Staples for a price match since the duration of the deal is through the end of the week.

Anything wrong with this plan? Can they refuse the price match because it is sold out (and will likely remain that way at the time I go to the store)? Anyone among you have an experience like this?

Thanks.

Bought 2 of the Microsoft Keyboards at Circuit City yesterday and price matched them no problem about $8.50 each out the door, had some issues with price matching Staples at Fry's because Staples was OOS but eventually got them to price match it with my Circuit City receipt and ended up with 5 Keyboard combo's for under $50

Does staples even do price matching? I never was aware that they did.

Hmm . . . I thought I had price matched at Staples a long time ago. But, I may be wrong. (I always confuse Staples, OM and OD). Anyhow, if they refuse to price match, I ill simply return the keyboard/mouse I bought online.

Then, I might ask, now that you have one in stock, may I buy it for the sale price? ;-) Heh. . . I doubt I'll do this . . I am too shy for any kind of extreme interaction with 'adversaries'.

I just burned two Playo +R DVDs with a BenQ 1650. Terrible quality scans. PI errors in the 500s. I'm returning these tomorrow.

Say, anyone know what's the coaster chance on those DVDs? I know $5 is dirt cheap even if half of them are bad, but still curious.

Is this for sure? When I talked to a rep at my local Staples over the phone today and asked him about shipping charges if I buy the keyboard/mouse online he said it's free with a minimum $50 order.

I did go in there today and bought 2 spindles of the Sony 100's CD-R's.

Yes, they price match. It has to be the same exact product, and be in stock at the other store. We used to do %110, but the company recently changed it to %100.

Boy, those keyboards went pretty quick. Had some people run in to get their hands on one. I would say after the initial rush they lasted another 15 minutes.

How are these keyboard/mouse? I guess I'll check out cnet and/or amazon reviews.

Edit: I found some reviews at Amazon.

I'm used to the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard. This looks a bit similar but lacks the raised keys in the middle and the wedge in the middle too. I was hopeful that it would be an ergonomic because the graphic made it appear that way, but actually it's not... maybe partially. Really, I've been hoping to get an ergonomic cordless, but haven't run into one.

So, if I take the Keyboard and Mouse that I bought yesterday online at the full-price, and ask for a price adjustment, based on the ad, you think they will refuse (because it's out of stock)?

If they do, can I return it, and then ask to the buy back that one at the sale price (because it is back in stock after my return and the "special" runs through the end of the week)?
