Yeah, you can change the number- just be sure to tell them what you did and see what they have to say about it?

Or is fraud not a crime anymore?

FYI: It did work for me yesterday evening. The cashier didn't say anything, just did their thing, and everything worked. I got a bunch of printer paper.

Tried at 3 different staples stores and all of them said the samething

This was pulled of the net and is not a valid coupon

There was emails that were sent out to all of the stores yesterday morning stating to not take them and it was updated in there system to not take them

Then please tell me what's the point of releasing a coupon on their official site for everyone to see on the net if they are not going to honor it?

Consider this....

The coupon is clearly from Staples. If it really isn't, Staples has the ability, and the responsibility to get it pulled, if necessary by court order. It's easy to find the isp of the originating site.

I called my local staples manager, asked if it was fraudulent, was told no, took it down, mentioned to the clerk that I wondered about it's validity. She scanned it, and my ink cartridge price went down from 30.98, to 20.98.

I think it's the local Staple's stores that are scamming peeps here that cannot get it pulled.

Thats my two cents,
Thanks for the deal, and for the link.

Thanks!

OM generally acepts all their competitor's coupons (i am assuming this is NOT fraud and the staples mgrs are trying to protect their bonus). ;)

To see how many people are getting into there site and getting coupons before they are released

This at one time was a valid coupon but more than likely was a 1 time code coupon

This was a probably a kosher coupon... once. These coupons are meant to be single use and will only work on Staples.com once. However, they usually can be used multiple times in-store because the computer systems there don't check to see if they have been used already. One thing to be aware of is that the Staples account number to which it originally applied is munged into the coupon code, so Staples can easily track its source. The safest use of these coupons is at competing stores such as OM or OD.

The only problem with this reasoning is that they were posted on an OFFICIAL Staples Web Site - one-time-use coupons are e-mailed.

If they did NOT intend for us to use it, WHY would it show up on a STAPLES' SITE?

And OM, OD ususally give much less hassles w/coupons (then Staples, believe-it-or-not). :p

One-time use coupons are emailed, but the email has a link to a coupon generator page that provides the full printable coupon. In fact, you can even produce your own coupon by changing the last few digits in the link, although these won't work on Staples.com and may land you in trouble elsewhere.

I have to say, I am very surprised the mods here have allowed this thread. By their own rules they really should have removed that link.

I just tried using it in Portland, OR... the Jantzen Beach Staples had it on a print out of coupons not to accept...
walking in I remembered why I don't like shopping there... its a pain in the ass to walk in and out of the store... turnstiles during entry.. you have to take the long way around to leave.. reminds me of some supermax shows I've seen on tv.. whats the deal with their entry way? .. if someone was gonna run out of the store they could jump over the turnstiles anyways.. or tackle any number of the out of shape workers there.. my advice to store managers... change your entry way
