I have an HP LaserJet 3380 and lately, the printer has stopped printing completey straight. At times, the slant is barely notiecable, but other times it is very bad. Is this a hardware issue, or is there another way to fix this?

Check the rubber rollers or the paper feed. When the paper moves, it probably moves slightly slower in one side.

It would only be a machanical issue. I agree you should check the rollers. If they have not be changed in awhile you may need replacement rollers. Sometimes you will get paper dust on them which will cause them to slip and cleaning them with a rubber roller cleaning may relieve the issue. One or more rollers though will not rotate slower than the others in the same assembly because they will all be located on the same shaft rotating at the same speed, but if some are slipping on one side it could very well cause the paper to shift. Another thing to keep in mind, that some people do overlook is to make sure those paper guides are snug against the paper because it would allow the paper to be feed through incorrectly from the start.
