Every movie of his (with the possible exception of Lolita) is sheer genious!

I could (and have) watch his movies and than immediatly restart them and watch them all over agian. They are that amazing. What's funny is that they get better each time I watch them.

My personal favorites (in order):

A Clockwork Orange
Full Metal Jacket
Space Odyssey: 2001 (I LOVE the symbolism in this movie! A modern masterpiece)
The Shining
Dr. Strangelove and How I learned to love the Atomic Bomb

I liked 'eyes wide shut' but it wasn't one of my favorites. It didn't seem quite as important, or carry the weight of his other movies. It seemed like more of an excuse to just talk about sex. BTW (this is a dumb question) but do underground sex societies like the one in the movie exist?

Anyways, I don't really know the point of this thread other than I want to talk about Stan :p

It is sick but brilliant in a twisted sort of way and Sue Lyon is spectacular to look at. Peter Sellers is one of my favorite actors too and his role in this film is rather interesting. It was a little disturbing the first time I viewed it but that goes away if you choose to watch it again.

The beginning of Full Metal Jacket was probably one of the funniest things I've seen.

check out paths of glory, its a great war movie with Kirt Douglas.

As far as FMJ goes, the first part of the movie was great, the second have was pretty crummy. Kubrick did not like to travel show they tried to make england look like vietnam.

Also, did you know that he was working on AI when he died ( Speilberg finished the movie). He was only in pre-production when he died but the film has a Kubrick feel to it (interestingly mixed with SS)

Paths Of Glory is an awesome movie. The fact that it basically bashes the French is a bonus.

haha, it's so true... first time I watched A Clockwork Orange, I didn't even think I would be able to finish it (with all the rapings an all) but now it doesn't even phase me :eek:

Ya I'd heard that, but haven't watched it yet. I've only heard poor things about A.I. Is it any good?

Ill have to look into paths of glory as well.

clockwork orange is great...but i can't watch it too often...it's disturbing man.

As much as I like Clockwork Orange, I could never rate it higher than Dr. Strangelove.

Slim Pickins + George C Scott + Peter Sellers = brilliance.

Perhaps you missed Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World? The Terminal is pretty bad too, but Tom Hanks bails him out. AI, though, takes the cake.
