My notebook, recently...so easy to hang....the hang is...everytime....suddnely..a program use CPU 99% and I cannot end this program/process by the Task/Process Manager of WinXP....each time different program hang.....nothing strange happen before hang....nothing special is doing on the labtop just before hang...so far the following program has tried hang..

Opera
MSN
Windows Media player...

anybody have any idea? I have used Drive Fitness Test to test the HD...It's ok..I have scan spyware, virus...all ok and I have firewall installed...just do not know why...

Does it crash like this when using battery, and when using AC?

Did you instal the OS, or was it done before you got hold of it?

What BIOS rev is the machine?
How old is it?

Hello,

I have tried memtestX86 for 8 times...no error

all right, no matter battery or AC....same error

The OS is installed by me, working for 3 months already....it did work correctly for 2 months....I cannot figure out any software that I have installed before may crash the application...so far I could only find that.....those browser/ IM software crashed only...

Opera, MSN....all have hang....others no.......when they hang...they use up the CPU for 99%....if I set the crashed process to low pirority..my computer can still operate...very normal.

Now, I think it's the software problem, but not the hardware problem, agree? As I have tried Linux, MacOSX on my notebook, no problem.....

I more news, I replace MSN with Trillian Pro...still the Trillian can get hang...is that there is some conflict to my regsitry or application? especially for thsoe who can use the network connection one?

Reinstalling WinXP can help? or is it the only solution.....

Other than that hang...everythings work fine.....the time for those error is random....no special things happen before that crash

thx anyway...look forward to your reply

It sounds like anything that uses the internet will cause the system to hang - is this right?

Does Outlook Express also do this?
Anything that doesn't use the internet connection, doesn't hang -- is this right?

yes, you can say so...

Latest news...I have reinstall WinXP Home with service Pack2....

now again...Opera hang again...and trillian hang again....

I am thinking of whether I have installed some software that crashes the 2 applications.....

coz a clean install also cannot help...there must be some software conflict...I dont think it's Hardware problem...dont you?

any idea? I really so frustrated....
