Standart Catalyst VS CCC

For someone like me who doesn't need the fancy graphic interface...any thing more i would get with the CCC?
I have a brand new X800XL and in the normal Control panel I dont see any temp reading or OC option, will i see those by installing the CCC?

Almost forgot. I had a 9800pro before that and while installing the driver I found a new option call WDM, any Idea of what is that thing?

I don't know, and I really don't care, that crap takes too long to load. I think it got worse or something.

The stupid CCC won't even load for me.

It shows as a process in teh device manager for a second; then disappears without ever loading up for me :|

I will try the 5.7 drivers without CCC when i get time.

Well, now I do know.

CCC has geometry instancing support and catalyst A.I. settings.

both of these are used to improve performance.

MS .NET Framework makes my system (all of them) unstable so I don't use CCC. Of course, I'll wind up having to give it a try again once ATI desupports the regular control panel and force us to opt for CCC + .NET Framework.

I just hope this won't happen for a long time...
