Standalone cooling unit help?

I recently bought this small fan:

and I am trying to figure out how to power it as a standalone unit. I had it hooked up to a 9V battery, but it drained the power in a few hours. Help?

Rig it to power from the wall.

Not sure if that fan has a molex plug

That fan is 1.56 Watts, that means it will pull 0.13Amps which is 130mA. A typical 9V alkaline battery has a capacity of just 565 mAh, so it will drain completely in 565/130 = 4.3 hours.

Even lithium batteries will only get you to about 1200 mAh, and a rechargeable to just 600 mAh. So powering this fan from a small battery is not practical.

A car battery could give you around 60Ah depending on model, and your ampage needs are light compared to the design usage for such a battery so you should get a steady 13.5V - 12.6V operation out of it for the full discharge without it getting hot. That would give you 60000 / 130 = 461 hours until full discharge.

you could run a lot of your fans.
notice there is a controller with the solar panel you kind of need that. this is complete crazy overkill. but if you google you can find smaller solar setups. or plug it into the wall.

now the battery I show would run that fan for close to 12 hours.
