Couldn't tell you offhand since I can't listen at work and I don't recall how the Thin Lizzy one sounds. I can tell you that I've been listening to an album for the past few weeks by a local Irish folk band (Darby O'Gill, check 'em out), and they do a great version of Whiskey in the Jar.

They didn't take me fists, and I knocked the jailer down

No shit? I saw them at Monsters of Rock in Kaiserslautern the day before you did. They absolutely rocked at K-Town, but then so did BOC.

Heh - saw BOC again in 1986 - in a frickin' skating rink! You could literally walk right up and lean on the stage. Place was so small when Eric Bloom lifted his guitar over his head he knocked plaster off the ceiling.
